Happy Monday! We’re coming off of a very hot and muggy weekend- Saturday was the hottest day of 2025 at 93°! The heat and humidity continues over the next few days with a few storms. We're in for a hot and humid day tomorrow 🌡️☀️ High temperatures in the lower 90s with heat indices into the mid 90s. Oppressive dew points at this time too, it's going to be sticky and steamy! A few stray showers could fire up but the better chance for storms is on Sunday. Stay cool and enjoy your weekend!

Stepped up to fill in for John Stehlin at yesterdays Slice of Summer 🍕 I had so many great conversations with these amazing people, and of course had so much fun! What happened to the 12 yard penalty kick rule?? These kids were too funny, always love getting to know people in the community. The Storm Prediction Center has placed inland areas under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe storms tomorrow. Scattered showers and storms are likely to develop in the afternoon and continue into the evening. A few of these storms could produce gusty winds, and because they may move slowly, localized heavy downpours are also possible.

This system is diurnally driven, meaning it gets most of its energy from daytime heating, so storm activity should diminish around sunset. Weather Aware Day in place for tomorrow, the First Warning Weather Team has you covered!

A system about 150 miles off the northeast Florida coast now has a 70% chance of developing into a cyclone over the next 7 days. It's become more organized today, with strong winds on its east side. The NHC states that there's a chance a short-lived depression could form later today or Saturday as the system drifts to the north-northwest.
🌧️ Regardless of development, heavy rain is expected across west-central and southwest Florida early Saturday, as well as parts of the Carolinas, starting late tomorrow.
Inform family/friends in these areas and be prepared for potential travel delays this holiday weekend. Stay safe!
