Today is ENN Lepiscopo’s last day here at Erie News Now🥺

I started on weekends with him and Lisa, where we quickly realized we shared the same sense of humor. Growing up with two older brothers and some sort of sport on the TV 24/7, I learned how to hold my own during the heated sports debates that inevitably happen in the sports department!

Logan approaches every story, live shot, and sportscast with professionalism, passion, energy, and grace. He's truly done it all here: sports, news reporting, anchoring, and even weather! He got sent out into the Thanksgiving snowstorm, so I guess he can say he was a meteorologist for a day.

It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know him and share so many memories. He's every bit as kind off camera as he is on-air. He will be greatly missed, and I'm grateful to have gained a lifelong friend!

Wherever your career takes you next, I'll be cheering you on every step of the way. Cheers, Logan!👏

We could play pin the tail on the donkey on our weather maps and land on sunshine no matter where you go! ☀️ Skies are clear, humidity is low, and winds are calm. We're wrapping up what was just about a perfect spring day and setting the stage for a copy and paste forecast tomorrow.
Isn't it great when the weather does exactly what it's supposed to do? Sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and no weather worries. Enjoy it!

June 1st not only marks the start of meteorological summer, but also the start of hurricane season.

We’re off to a calm start, with no tropical cyclone development expected over at least the next 7 days. Seasonal forecasts from Colorado State University and NOAA are both calling for a below average Atlantic hurricane season this year. A big reason for that is the anticipated development of El Niño later this summer, which would align with the peak of hurricane season.

El Niño tends to create stronger upper level winds and a more stable atmosphere over the Atlantic, making it harder for thunderstorms to organize and strengthen into tropical systems.

That said, it only takes one hurricane to cause widespread destruction and devastation. No matter what the preseason predictions show, hurricane preparedness should always be taken seriously. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the tropics all season long. Stay weather aware as the Atlantic begins to heat up!

FIRE RISK:
It has been a week since we last saw a measurable amount of rain. While this has been great for anyone enjoying outdoor activities without needing the rain gear, vegetation is really starting to dry out.

Warren, McKean, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties are currently under a moderate fire risk. When sustained winds reach 15 mph or greater and relative humidity drops to 30% or less, fire danger increases significantly. Under these conditions, fires can ignite more easily and spread much faster.

If you are lighting a bonfire, be sure to keep a fire extinguisher or water source nearby and never leave it unattended. Enjoy the dry weather, but make sure to stay safe and use extra caution with any open flames.
