Big changes are on the way- We’re tracking a major cold front associated with a Low Pressure System moving across the Great Lakes. This system will bring showers and storms and significantly drop our temperatures all the way through the weekend. Another fun-filled, action-packed weekend with my parents visiting! We packed in so much- A cruise on the Victorian Princess, yard sale adventures, a relaxing time at Presque Isle Beach, delicious meals at The Cove Restaurant, Valerio's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, and of course, some sweet treats from Niagara Creamery ! 🚢🌊🍦They’ve truly grown to love Erie as much as I do! Now winding down the weekend with the Notre Dame vs. Miami game (Go Irish!) 🍀🏈 Grateful for weekends like this with family! How was everyone’s Labor Day Weekend?

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating Category 5 Hurricane Katrina.

Today, we look back to August 28, 2005, the day Katrina rapidly intensified from a Category 3 to a Category 5 hurricane in less than 12 hours over the Gulf waters.

We’ve been retracing its path this week as we remember not only the meteorological intensity of the storm, but also the human impact that followed. Stay tuned as we continue to follow Katrina’s timeline- and honor the resilience of the communities affected.

We’ve been tracking a line of showers and thunderstorms moving through with a cold front. Temperatures are already dropping behind the front- some spots are down to the upper 50s. Meanwhile, we’re still holding onto the lower 70s ahead of it, with gusty southwest winds keeping things warm- for now. Hang onto your hats, cooler air is on the way shortly. We’ve got a little regatta happening near Dobbins Landing right now!⛵️☀️ It’s breezy, cool, and crisp - the feel of fall in the air- but that’s not stopping people from soaking up the final weeks of summer on the water! With rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast for tomorrow, these boaters definitely have the right idea!
