⭐ SOI STARS OF THE GAME | PENNRIDGE 28, SOUDERTON 11

Pennridge improved to 2-0 with a 28-11 rivalry win over Souderton, and three Rams earned our Stars of the Game honors, presented by CDS Wealth Management.

🏈 Offensive Star — Trevor Picciotti
20 carries, 100 yards and a touchdown. Picciotti carried the workload down the stretch and helped Pennridge control the clock and finish the game.

🛡️ Defensive Star — Blake Landherr
11 tackles. Landherr once again anchored the middle of a Pennridge defense that made things difficult for Souderton all night.

🦵 Special Teams Star — Austin Keller
4-for-4 on extra points with three of five kickoffs going for touchbacks, consistently forcing Souderton to start deep in its own territory.

FINAL | PENNRIDGE 28, SOUDERTON 11

The old rivalry returned to Helman Field - and made earn every bit of this one.

The Indians pulled within 14-11 late in the third quarter, but the Rams answered immediately and took over from there, scoring the final 14 points to improve to 2-0.
Pennridge finished with 319 yards of offense, including 191 on the ground, while the defense piled up 66 tackles and five tackles for loss.

🏈 UPPER MORELAND 20, BENSALEM 7

Upper Moreland’s defense made the difference Thursday night.

After a 7-7 first half, the Bears returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the third quarter — one from sophomore Julian Melendez and another from senior Benedict Holcombe — to take control of the game. Upper Moreland forced four turnovers in the win and moved to 2-0.

Bensalem had its moments, including an impressive 63-yard touchdown run by Brennan Farnsworth, who broke multiple tackles to tie the game in the second quarter. But the turnovers proved too costly for the Owls.

NORRISTOWN @ ABINGTON

is back home Thursday night looking to bounce back and grab its first win of the season as the Ghosts host at 7 PM.

The Ghosts are coming off a tough opener and will be looking for a better start, more rhythm offensively, and a strong response on their home field.

Norristown also enters 0-1, so both teams come in hungry and looking to get in the win column.

This one feels like an important early-season test for both programs.

Our own will be on-site covering Abington all season long for SOl, so be sure to follow along for updates, highlights, and postgame coverage.

The Bears enter at 1-0 after a 36-6 win over Frankford.

Quarterback David Adamski threw three touchdown passes, while Kyle Moore made plays everywhere - scoring through the air and on the ground while also coming away with an interception defensively.

comes in at 0-1 looking for a response after a tough opening-night loss to Upper Darby.

Tonight gives the Owls an opportunity to reset and pick up their first win of the season.

🏈 MAYHEM’S GAME OF THE WEEK | SOUDERTON AT PENNRIDGE

Two familiar programs. Two different starts to the season. One old rivalry back under the lights.

Pennridge comes into Week 1 at 1-0 after an impressive 35-0 victory over Liberty. The Rams produced more than 400 yards of offense in the opener, including 201 passing yards and three touchdowns from Aiden Tetowski. Nate Derstine was one of his biggest weapons, finishing with 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Souderton enters at 0-1 following a 31-14 loss to Spring-Ford, but the Indians were tied 14-14 at halftime before Spring-Ford pulled away. Brett Po***ck threw for 145 yards and Alex Whitcomb finished with 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.

There’s some history here too. The last meeting between these programs came in 2023, when Souderton edged Pennridge 19-14.

Tonight, they meet again.

Week 0 is here.
Abington opens the 2026 season on the road tonight against a Kennett team coming off a 9-3 season and District 1 playoff appearance. The Blue Demons return quarterback Garrett McCracken along with two-way contributors Hunter Taylor and Gaven Ritch.

For the Ghosts, Caleb Smith takes over at quarterback as Abington looks to establish a physical running game and take a step forward with a young roster. Head coach Bruce Fleming told SOI fans should expect a team that is “aggressive and sound” defensively and committed to getting back to downhill football on offense.
