Nonviolence Magazine

Nonviolence Magazine We open a picture on nonviolence culture and movements. Brought to you by the Metta Center for Nonviolence.

Nonviolence is a hope-filled resource for practical idealists. Our aim is to offer fresh perspectives on human potential and inspire constructive action around the issues that matter: peacebuilding, democracy, social justice, economy, climate protection. We also strive to challenge conventional notions of power and expertise. Power, as we understand it, doesn’t come from physical strength, wealth

or military might. It’s about the power within us to create positive changes. We’re all experts in one way or another — we all have life experiences to draw upon. Each of us can lend our skills and potential to building an equitable society that helps everyone live their full potential. The print version of Nonviolence is published biannually by the Metta Center for Nonviolence, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides educational resources on the safe and effective use of nonviolence, advances a higher image of humankind and empowers people to explore the question: How does nonviolence work, and how can I actively contribute to a happier, more peaceful society?

Gandhi wrote: “As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world — that is the myth of the atomic — as in being able to remake ourselves.” What did Gandhi want us to understand?
(Actually, Michael Nagler wrote that and it was attributed to Gandhi!)
