Another reach into the Time Machine. This one only goes back 2 years though. This is the session that convinced me to return portraiture.
Brendan is a UFC Fighter and needed some promotional photos. At that point in time I was fully embracing the zen of landscape photography and really wasn’t interested in dealing with “clients,” and normally would have said no thanks. But the idea piqued my curiosity and before I could answer the request, I was already crafting the photos in my head to suit the narrative.

Reaching into the wayback machine for this one. Fall of 2009, I was in my last semester of college and had been calling myself a photographer for four whole years with no idea how little I actually knew about photography. This photo makes me feel my years. Katie was about 9, maybe close to 10, I think. She’s a college graduate engaged to be married halfway through her twenties now.
