Must have been Fight Night at Jackass Ranch last night… I didn’t get the invite but certainly had to tend to some injuries sustained by Jaxon and Chloe.

Chloe is always a trooper. She let us clean the wound and apply some treatment… no problem. Jaxon… well… that’s a whole different story.

We did it… it was not without a little wrestling match … no extra boo-boos for him… and just the standard boo-boos you would expect when wrestling a 400 pound animal for me…

he’s probably super pi**ed at me and will avoid me for the next month or so… but… hopefully he will realize I’m only trying to help… not hurt 🙏❤️🫏

❄️Winter is Coming!❄️ Time to prepare the b***os for the cold. 🥶

Tuesdays with Taz - 10-22-2024

Welcome to Tuesdays with Taz!

Our coats are getting puffy again and the days are getting shorter. We have not had ice in the water trough yet, but the water is really cold on our lips in the morning. Winter is just around the corner, or if you go into any store and see the holiday decorations, it is already here. Take advantage of the warmer days to get prepared for winter.

*Pull out the tank heaters and in our case the metal troughs. Make sure the heaters are in working order and your power supplies are ready to go.
*Ensure you have plenty of hay on hand. This is a given! We like to eat and we like to eat more when the temperatures are colder.
*Clean your pens and the areas around your pens of any debris and remove or repair any holes or obstacles that may become a hazard if covered in snow. (Yes, Snowball, we are going to need to fill in your hole…)
*If you think you will need blankets, buy them now. The Amazon truck comes quickly but not the minute the shivers start. It is great to have blankets on hand in the event of an emergency or unexpected situation.
*Check your equine first aid kit. Do you have what you need in the event of an emergency including your vet and farrier numbers?

This is Hissy Miss… my Barn Cat that got really sick. I took her to the ER Vet on July 5 where she actually coded and they miraculously brought her back to life.

One week from today Hissy Miss will have her last dose of her Life-saving medicine. She will then have 84 days of observation to make sure she doesn’t relapse back to FIP. She’s spent 105 days so far in the care of Wild Blue Cats.

If we reach the $2500 goal before next Friday… anyone who donated from today forward will be put in a drawing for a coffee gift card from your choice of Starbucks, Dutch Bros or Dunkin!

Hissy missed coded on July 5… heart stopped…CPR performed… and a life-saving dose of a “black market” drug given. She has had 100 days of treatment under the care of Wild Blue Cats and will have her last dose October 25!!

Under the care of Tiffany at Wild Blue… Hissy has learned that being an indoor cat versus a feral barn cat has some perks. She’s learned human touch can be comforting… toys are pretty cool and still allow her prey instincts to be used… playing with other cats is fun… and when tired out… a comfy bed beats a bare of hay.

Tomorrow is my birthday and this year I am asking for your consideration in supporting Wild Blue Cats so they can continue to save little kitty lives. Living the ranch life isn’t always spectacular. This morning a group of squawking crows woke us up… we discovered a deceased pronghorn… most likely taken by the coyotes that roam the area. Crazy thing though… you would have thought we, or the dogs, would have heard a pack of hunting yotes this close to the house.
