I hear it all the time.

“You’re so lucky.”
“My kid would never eat that.”

It’s not luck.

It’s repetition.
It’s consistency.
It’s normalizing variety early and often.

No forcing.
No battles.
Just exposure over time.

What’s something people are surprised your kids eat?

What if kids aren’t actually picky…

What if they’re just underexposed?

If beige foods are offered daily,
that becomes their comfort zone.

If variety is offered consistently,
that becomes normal too.

Kids eat what feels familiar.
And familiarity is built.

People call it exhaustion.

But it’s not just sleep deprivation.

It’s carrying the invisible list.
The mental notes.
The emotional regulation.
The constant anticipation of what’s next.

That kind of tired doesn’t get fixed with a nap.

If you feel this too — you’re not crazy.

Being intentional as a mom sounds beautiful.

It also means you’re constantly thinking.
Planning meals.
Teaching habits.
Modeling behavior.
Managing emotions — theirs and yours.

The mental load doesn’t clock out.

So yes — I make the coffee.

But what I really want sometimes… is backup.

What carries the mental load in your house?
