I still don’t give a f*ck.

Every year, Philly Mag puts out their “Best of” list and everyone scrambles to repost it like it means something. But it’s not really about the best. It’s about who’s visible, who’s trendy, who fits the story they want to tell. It’s a content machine, not a compass.

That doesn’t mean the winners don’t deserve some shine. Some of them are doing great work. But let’s not pretend this is anything more than media strategy. A headline. A pat on the back.

If you won or got nominated, I’m happy for you. Truly. Celebrate it. Use it. Just don’t forget what it is.
