May 25, 2022 Karim suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a ruptured brain aneurysm, while working-out at the gym. This traumatic brain injury resulted in 107 days of hospitalization, most of which was in the neurological intensive care unit. He suffered many setbacks while hospitalized, including 2 mini strokes in the back of the brain and cerebral fluid infections.

We would like to introduce to the Muslim World the first book of three compiled from the famous books "Attainment of the Objective in Distinguishing the Companions" by Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani and "The Lives of Noble Figures" by Imam Adh-Dhahabi.
The translation and compilation of this first book of the First Generation, which is 800 pages and contains over 850 Noble Companions, took the Translator, our noble brother and teacher, Rasheed Barbee, and our Editor over 2 years to complete this publication, which came with many trials and setbacks.
It was by the Grace of Allah which allowed us together to have the commitment, fortitude and perseverance to address the challenges we were met with, that we were able to stay focused so that this tremendous work could be available to the Muslim English readers throughout the world.
It is our intention to publish the first three generations in their own separate books.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best people are those of my generation, and then those who will come after them (the next generation), and then those who will come after them (i.e the next generation)..."
