Today's post is bitter sweet. Not just because it will be my last and final post of an issue as the Founder & CEO of Hustle Mama: The Magazine for Today's POWERHOUSE Woman, but because it is the end of an era for me. Hustle Mama was born in 2000 as a book of collection of essays of life as a divorced and single mom of 3 children working sometimes 3 jobs and trying to go to school and make life better for myself and my family. It evolved over the last 24 into something bigger than I could have ever imagined. Books, Blog, Teachings, University, Podcast, Merchandise, App, Radio, TV, and a Magazine that was designed to highlight and support the entrepreneurial efforts of women of noble purpose who HUSTLE.... Help, Unite, Share, Teach, Lead and Empower families, communities, and the world.
I went from doing everything by myself to having writers, designers, and a host of staff. I couldn't get one person to pay me $10 to advertise, yet I ended with advertising agencies, partnering with the likes of Ebony online, being a distribution channel for PR Newswire, covering as a member of the press The Stellar Awards, Woman Thou Art Loosed, Woman Evolve, New York Fashion Week and more... I went from couldn't get people to read it to having millions come to our site every month and hundreds of thousands of unique and first time visitors. It's been a blessing each and every step of the way!
We started publishing 12 years ago with our first issue in the Fall of 2012 and here we are publishing our Finale in the Fall of 2024 and this issue is EPIC let me tell you. It's all about leaving a legacy... honoring those who imparted and poured into me and those whom I've been afforded the opportunity to do the same. If you have a chance, pick up your limited edition print copy today... IYKYK (because I am full of surprises and you just never know what it's going to mean down the line...).
The biggest thanks goes to my parents for supporting me, believing in me and investing with me. Thank you to my children and aunts, uncles, and cousins for their support. Thanks to my friends who showed up and who thought enough to buy our issues and support my dream.
I can't thank my team and my staff enough times, nor those who have supported and rocked with us all these years. Those who have been followers on social media, subscribers to my content, and those who have bought the physical copies... I am grateful.
