Episode 22 is out now!

In this episode, Brett Hinkey tells the story of Gideon from the book of Judges, chapters 6 through 8.

Gideon took an army of 300 men that was whittled down from thousands of men and defeated the Midianites through confusion. Gideon's story may not be as simple as it sounds, though. Brent Henderson, Jeremy Spittle, Jamison Stubbs, and Erik Smith join the discussion to talk about what Gideon's story means for them, if anything at all.

We also continue to talk about how good B&B Saus is ( )(bnbsaus.com, use checkout code BOTR for 10% off), and give ourselves a plug at the end where we try to confuse each other by mixing up how we say the number for our voicemail line. (267) ON ROCKS (267-667-6257).

We may not always make great arguments on Bible On The Rocks, but is that really the point?

We aren’t aiming to change anybody’s mind about booze or Christianity or the combination of the two, but we do hope we can make some sort of progress in what we do. How? No idea. We’re going to have fun doing it, though!

Here’s a throwback to Episode 3!

Who has two thumbs and can forgive sins? In This episode we talk about a man who was paralyzed (we call him Steve) being lowered down through a thatch roof to Jesus.

Tune in to learn more about what we have to say about this episode!

We also had a guest join us, Matt Jennings from M & M Exteriors, LLC, so we had the roofing expert there. Spoiler alert: if you put a hole in your roof, it lets water in.

Brent Henderson, The Good Reverend Kombucha Co, Warrenton, VA Q: When did you first discover kombucha? 2010. My wife used to have lots of pain associated with digestive issues and a friend shared a jar with us believing it might help. It did. From the very first time that she…

In our latest episode, our guest contributor, Brent Henderson (of The Good Reverend Kombucha Company) tells the story of Adam and Eve from the book of Genesis, Chapters 2 and 3. We talk about what it means to sin and then we try to come up with new names for animals. Erik then explains why he believes we as humans are incapable of creating something completely new by using the movie "Alien" as an example. We even break out into song by the end of the discussion because of a joke that Brett shares. There's plenty to discuss in this story, so sit back and enjoy as we explore the Bible with Bible On The Rocks.

If you’ve ever wondered about Kombucha, here’s some really interesting information from our friends at TGR. They make the best kombucha!

The scoby from each batch of healthy raw kombucha forms new growths we call babies. That’s why scoby’s are called “mothers.” Our kombucha journey began in 2009. For over a decade our mothers have received only 100% pure, wholesome organic ingredients. For nearly 12 years we have maintained a completely closed system, which means every time we start new batches of kombucha in our expanding operations, the new scoby’s have always come from the new growth of our pure organic mothers. There are so many new and modern methods that many people employ for making delicious healthy kombucha, which we applaud and support! We have chosen ancient methods and processes which have served us and our mothers very well for quite some time now. We will continue our pledge to age old practices as we continue on this journey. This is our commitment to you. Some call it outdated. We call it ours. Respect the ancients. Honor your mother. Trust your gut.

Happy Veterans Day!Thank you, Joshua Perrius and all those who have served or are serving, for your service!

Six Guys talking about the Bible and Faith over drinks...

Bible On The Rocks is the podcast where a group of friends get together over drinks to talk about stories from the Bible.

Each episode, one of us will tell a Bible story in our own words while the rest of the group chime in with their own thoughts and opinions.

Our group contains a wide variety of Biblical knowledge, which helps get different perspectives on the story. We're tackling stories from the Bible and giving our takes on what the stories mean to us.

We encourage our listeners to pick up a Bible and read these stories on their own to see if there's any additional meaning that we don't cover.
