Kiwanis Club of Central Bucks has done incredible things for this community. The club has worked quietly and consistently to bring support, resources, and encouragement to families in need. đŸ©·

The club goes above and beyond to help those who need it through its signature projects. In August, it’s the Backpack project. In the fall, it’s a food drive. 💗

“To keep these projects going, the club hosts fundraisers throughout the year. Their biggest event this fall is the online auction running October 10–20, which raises money directly for local children and families.”

Community members can bid on the donated items and experiences. All proceeds support Kiwanis service projects. Shop for a cause!

“You know what’s weird? I never had any doubts about Kin. The idea of a place where people who are going through cancer treatment can sort of repair themselves-it just made sense to me”, says the director of Kin Wellness Center, Kristina Fenimore. đŸ©·

The center opened in 2021 with a mission to help Bucks County residents battling cancer find calm and peace through free holistic wellness services. Community donations fund Kin’s operations, and volunteers comprise the staff.

“Kin operates in memory of Corinne Sikora, a local Bucks County resident. Before passing away in 2020, Corinne had a vision. She wished for a communal wellness center, a retreat where people at all stages of their cancer journey could come together and heal. Over the last four years, Kristina and her husband, Keith Fenimore, have made the dream a reality.”

Kin Wellness is unlike any other wellness center you’ll enter. They’ve cultivated a place where you don’t just feel welcome, but at ease. With the gumball machine filled with words of encouragement and an “ever-smiling” furry greeter, it’s more than comforting.

Read more about the amazing minds and their courage behind Kin Wellness Center on the front page of our October issue. Written by our managing editor, Natalya Bucuy, have your tissues ready, it’ll tug at your heartstrings. đŸ„č

Exciting news is happening in New Hope. Koru movement studio is opening a new Fire & Ice spot! đŸ”„â„ïž

Set to open on October 4th, the new Fire and Ice spot is the newest element at Krits Somatic Education Center.

“Somatics refers to being aware of oneself as a body, with a specific focus on the nervous system through movement and breath work.

At the core, the philosophy that fuels Kirts and his team at both Koru and Fire & Ice is tied inextricably to his undergraduate studies and his journey of lifelong learning ever since.”

Read more about this exciting change on the front page of our September issue. Writer Wendy A. Maraska dives into the specifics of the new spot and what the overall goal is.

“The Warm Breeze of summer air reminds us all of different things- family barbeques, smores, campfires, pool days. To us chefs, our heads are completely elsewhere”, writes the Servis brothers in their article titled “Cantaloupe.” Yep, you read that right, Cantaloupe! Our favorite pair of brothers decided to share with us some of their insight on this delicious fruit. ☀

“When in peak season, this melon has the most distinct flavor and aroma. Almost smelling a little rotten, this fruit has a gravitational pull around it that keeps sucking me in”.

Read more about this fruit and the benefits you gain from eating it! Located on page 17 of our September Issue 📰
