Amerikanske Almost Dead er klar med nyt album i form af "Destruction Is All We Know" - og hvor mærkeligt det end måtte lyde, så er jeg ikke stødt på dem før - på trods af at de snart har været aktive i mere end 20 år - og det med en flok albums på bagen: "Almost Dead" fra 2007, "Internal Chaos" fra 2008, "Mindf**ked" fra 2012, "Lay Me Down To Waste" fra 2018 og "Brutal Onslaught" fra 2021 - men det er da noget der skal rådes bod på nu.

Musikken er den der dejlige blanding af den rå energi fra hardcore blandet med mere thrashede elementer - what's not to like?

Albummet lægger hårdt ud med "Warheads In The Sky" - med smadrende trommer og en bas så tung at den knuser alt - og så lige toppet med et par dejlige riffs - og stemmen fra Rolandelli, der med et imponerende vokalrange kommer godt omkring og hjælper med at smadre lytteren på bedste vis. “Commandments Of Coercion” holder dampen oppe på brutal vis - ikke mindst på grund af trommespillet fra Glick - et sandt kraftværk man har bag trommerne der - igen flankeret på bedste vis af stemmen fra Rolandelli, bassen fra Portillo og W**ds måde at håndtere guitaren på

Albummet fortsætter i samme stærke stil på alle 9 numre - skal man fremhæve andre numre må det næste blive “Within The Ashes”, hvor der næsten kommer noget melodisk dødsmetal over det - især med guitaren der starter det hele - og så viser Rolandelli igen det imponerende range hans vokal har - med “Brutal Devotion” får vi albummets tungeste nummer - og det fungerer også fint i hænderne på disse herrer.

Albummet slutter med “Where Sinners Cry” - og det holder egentlig bare stilen fra resten af albummet - et langt angreb på lytteren - men altså på den gode måde.

Måske jeg ikke kendte Almost Dead på forhånd - men det er jeg heldigvis kommet til - og jeg vil da anbefale alle, der er til den der rare blanding af thrash og hardcore, til også at give dem en lytter - men jeg må dog lige advare - det er vanedannende - så repeat knappen kommer helt sikkert i brug.
