Customer Satisfaction Code - Why does the same scripts give different CSAT results;

In today's competitive business landscape, customer satisfaction is more than just a buzzword—it's a critical component of a successful business strategy. In this article, we will explore the importance of customer satisfaction and offer strategies for improving it.

Identify expectations - Imagine you are boutique store owner and you notice a customer walked inside your store and said that they need something to wear for an event, would you just grab a shirt on display and sell it?

One of the most common practice in the BPO setup is opening up the call/chat then immediately identify and sell resolution to the customers right of the bat. Whilst resolution is an important factor in achieving satisfaction and may work, one cannot assume that it is everything. Successful representatives carefully listen first with the customer's concern and identify the customer's expectation and profile then tailor fit the resolution.

Different expectations to consider:

Ask probing questions - we hear this all the time but what does it actually mean? Questions should not just be targeted towards resolution alone but other details about their expectations (e.g. time, cost, functionality, etc.) You cannot understand what you don't know and the concern might be similar but really different from the last customer so in this case it's always best to ask than to assume.

Time - whilst some customer appreciate details, some are on the go. Save your customer's time and read previous related concerns. When they have a pending concern, customers expect you to pick up where they left off and not go through the entire process from the top like it's their first time reaching out

Personalised Resolution - using probing question results as your guide, share the resolution that you would do for yourself if you are the one in their position. If more than 1 resolution is possible, present it to the customer and provide recommendations based on your professional advise and what similar other customers are doing.

Appreciate their business - note that our customers are really the one's really paying our bills. Come up with a message that would make the customer feel valued and appreciated before ending the conversation.
