Looking for a new puzzle challenge? Then check out longtime contributor Andrew Parr’s column “Discovering Japanese Logic Puzzles” (page 33). In the second installment of this series, Parr focuses on “Wolves and Sheep Slitherlink,” a loop-forming puzzle that requires no knowledge of mathematics and isn’t dependent on language. TABLE TALK CONTEST CORRECTION
In October’s Table Talk contest, clue 17 is out of alphabetical order. Its answer comes between answers 14 and 15 alphabetically.

Also, some solvers have pointed out that, for several answers, there is more than one way to parse them. That is, different combinations of elements may be used, but you will still arrive at the intended clue answer (but your final total will be different). In light of this, we will honor ANY contest submission that contains a valid solution to the puzzle. If you submit a final number as the contest solution that differs from our intended solution but is still arrived at in a valid way, it will be accepted as correct.

The September 2021 Games Magazine is now available...

Welcome to the September issue of GAMES WORLD OF PUZZLES! This month is traditionally marked by students’ return to school. And while the pandemic has caused the last year and a half to be anything but traditional, as of press time, many schools were preparing for the return of in-person instruction. This is an important step in a positive direction as we move toward “the new normal.”

Now Available. Welcome to the August issue of GAMES WORLD OF PUZZLES! As I was preparing to write this message, it occurred to me that ever since the merging of the former GAMES and WORLD OF PUZZLES in October 2014, we have never published a July issue. (This magazine is published nine times per year; the March, July, and November issues are skipped.) But July doesn’t deserve short shrift—after all, it’s synonymous with Independence Day, which has been a federal holiday in the U.S. since 1870. https://gamesmagazine-online.com/product/games-world-of-puzzles-aug-2021/

in Flasback 40 also October issue pg40-41. it noted that a couple issues were made in November when was November issue held from publication? (issues in 2010 and 2000)
omg!!! I saw an interesting concept in October issue called TILE MATH page 39. after comprehending the math concepts in the grid and noticing that the example changed the value of I from 0 to 1-, to make the example work. (that should've- told me to skip it but I trudged on j(8)- a(1)=7 desired for the first word across but m=p. checked answer and to my surprise the u value was changed to a 1 from 0. frustrated that I got it wrong and moved to next puzzle where I surmised that the first letter had to be a P as it was (3) value, could not figure more in the grid so answer had WEDS? huh?-3rd grid well left undone awaiting maybe clarification here to tackle more successfully.
