How is racial equity central to the mission of advancing gender equity? How do you use your white privilege to champion racial equity in the organization and outside the organization? What do you recommend to white women and leaders to foster racial equity?
These are all questions WOMEN'S WAY Board Vice Chair, Myra Brown, posed to Diane Cornman-Levy, Chief Disruptor at WOMEN'S WAY during a filmed conversation at PhillyCAM about anti-racism, white supremacy, and the journey to overcome racism.
This must watch segment will be aired on PhillyCAM’s network throughout June. You can also catch it on our website:

Couldn't make it to last week's #FundPHLArts Rally? Not to worry - we filmed the event with PhillyCAM PhillyCAM Voices! Watch it at:
Hello one and all. I am asking for crew to help me film a doc that will be an oral history of change that we that are of a certain age have seen during the course of our long and storied lives. We have plenty of gear just need warm bodies to operate them.
I can’t wait for tonight’s Philadelphia Stories Retrospective Celebration via PhillyCAM! I was a part of PhillyCAM’s Philly Video Shorties workshop with Sosena, which was a special 6-week workshop bringing together makers to produce 1 minute videos as part of the Philadelphia Stories RETROSPECTIVE, a “look back” to the rich cultural stories that compose Philadelphia. Now, we look forward with #PhillyStories that are as unique as the city itself. The workshop functioned like a creative lab, where we workshopped ideas, viewed various types of video content, and created work independently throughout. I contributed four 1 minute shorties for this awesome workshop!
ONE MINUTE WITH BILLY DUFALA:
Meet Billy Dufala of RAIR (Recycled Artist In Residency) and learn about how their program helps turn trash to treasure via the creative process!
HORCRUX: THE CURSE OF TRASH: (mini version) Check out my experimental short film that reminds us how the garbage we make will last longer than us. During my weekly street cleanups, I documented what I found on the street before I picked it up. A Horcrux is an object formed by dark magic used to achieve immortality by splitting a soul into separate pieces. This trash will be here long after we are gone. Plastic bags can take 1,000 years to break down; plastic bottles take 450 years, while styrofoam and tinfoil never break down because they are not biodegradable. Litter is more than just a mark on our landscape.
ONE MINUTE WITH YA FAV TRASHMAN:
Meet YaFav Trashman and learn about how he is helping Philadelphia turn trash to treasure!
OUT OF THE SHADOWS: SPOTLIGHT ON DEAF CULTURE: THEN & NOW: (trailer) I met Carol Finkle purely by accident during this workshop. It didn't even take one full session for me to know I wanted to work with her to help make a documentary series about Deaf arts & culture history of which she had played a major role, having raised Deaf children, as a hearing parent in the 80s and 90s. She raised two deaf children and was the Founder and Executive Director of Creative Access which is a Philadelphia-based, non profit arts-service and presenting organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, 'mixed' Deaf/hearing families, and the general public since 1992.

Hello Everyone,
I have created the survey linked below for SIFT and I am in need of participants.
For the past two years, we’ve heard a lot about the challenges, successes and frustrations of Philly Black and Brown Women Filmmakers. SIFT wants to better understand how to move the conversation forward.
I will be confidentially collecting the information submitted. I will create a report on the findings and present it digitally via SIFT at a later date.
Please take a moment to complete the survey and share it with others who may be willing to participate. It is comprehensive and will give us the information we need to support advocacy for all of us throughout the region and abroad.
Thank you.
👀Take a sneak peek behind the scenes of our upcoming mini documentary highlighting Asian American identity and lived experience coming in May!
💞 Dr. Esther Castillo, project manager for PCDC’s Chinese Immigrant Families Wellness Initiative - CIFWI 移民家庭情绪健康计划, has partnered with Doc Society Good Pitch Philadelphia to expand upon PCDC’s pilot program Asian American Racial Healing & Mindful Transformation (AARHMT) to address racial trauma in the AAPI community.
❓Did you know: In the U.S., AAPIs have the lowest mental health service utilization rate across all racial groups. More recently, these issues are also compounded by anti-Asian violence. This program is one of the first community-based and mindfulness-centered programs to address racial trauma for AAPIs nationwide.
🎥The short film will tell the story of AARHMT participants as they embark on the journey of racial healing for the very first time. Keep an eye out for more updates!
