Realize Cable Savings With Ethernet Over Copper

Ethernet over copper (EoC) is an alternate cabling system to standard Ethernet CAT cabling. Because it is made up of standard telephone twisted pair wiring, it is significantly less expense that CAT cabling. The trade-off is that the transmission distance for reliable communications at a given data speed is much less. For this reason, EoC cabling is often referred to as “first mile” cabling. It can only be used within a relatively short distance of the central data office.

Is Hosted VoIP or IP PBX The Right Choice? -

Don't miss this week's blog on whether Hosted VoIP or IP PBX is the right choice for your business!

Choosing between hosted VoIP and IP PBX depends on a number of variables specific to different businesses. Hosted VoIP telephony provides business owners the option of using a telephone calling system that has flexible bandwidth options in addition to lower costs for international calling. As the name implies, hosted VoIP systems are hosted by a third-party service provider. IP PBX is a complex telephony system with multiple components that places calls over IP data networks. IP PBX components include an IP PBX server, SIP phones, and (optimally) a VoIP Gateway. This system allows for effective communication between both internal and external PSTN lines.

Types Of Enterprises That Can Benefit From Transparent LAN Services -

Read all about types of enterprises that can benefit from transparent LAN services.

Carriers use Transparent LAN Service (TLS) to link multiple remote Ethernet networks in order to create a more comprehensive grid with greater capacity. The connected networks are displayed as one continuous network to customers, thus giving the multi-Ethernet system the term “transparent.” There are two common real-world applications for TLS. First, TLS is typically only available in large metropolitan areas or data centers in more remote areas that are large enough to effectively utilize TLS.

Benefits Of Ethernet Dedicated Internet For Businesses With Changing Bandwidth Needs -

Do you know the Benefits Of Ethernet Dedicated Internet For Businesses With Changing Bandwidth Needs? You will after reading today's blog!

Ethernet Dedicated Internet (EDI) makes it possible to connect a network directly to the Internet with an Ethernet interface. Dedicated Internet offers more flexible options for bandwidth usage without delays caused by additional purchases of available bandwidth or equipment. The capacity of available bandwidth is flexible when Dedicated Internet is provided by a major service provider in select areas. This system is similar to a “pay as you go” plan, and it can be especially helpful for growing businesses or seasonal businesses that rely heavily on reliable bandwidth during key times.

Don't miss this weeks blog on Ethernet Solutions: Ethernet Over Copper!

Ethernet over Copper (EOC), also known as Ethernet over First Mile (EFM), is an Ethernet solution designed to account for suboptimal conditions in major metropolitan areas. Some challenges frequently faced by service providers in metropolitan areas include increased noise, logistical maintenance challenges, bad splices, cut lines, and bridged taps. EOC typically runs 10,000 to 15,000 feet from each capable central office, thus giving it the nickname Ethernet over First Mile.

How Hosted VoIP Telephony Can Help Your Business -

You don't want to miss this week's blog on Hosted VoIP! Find out how hosted telephony can help your business!

The world is increasingly becoming connected. With that said, traditional communication methods have become increasingly obsolete. Intra- and interstate area codes do not mean as much as they used to for most small business owners that regularly conduct business over the phone. However, international calling can by very costly for almost any small business. In addition, Toronto’s 647 area code appears suspiciously American to a business associate haphazardly engaging in a 90 minute-long sales call. There is a cost-effective way to compete in today’s global economy while utilizing a normal telephone. The right hosted VoIP service provider and setup can save your business money while having no noticeable difference for the end user.
