What's the point of renting a video studio? Isn't that just an extra expense? 💸
Unnecessary? Sometimes. Expensive? Nope 🙅♀️
Some videos are much better when filmed on-location. But there are times that filming in a studio is not only easier, it can also be cheaper 🤯
If you are filming a talking-head interview, a studio is the prime spot. A video studio (not a photo studio) is built with sound in mind. So that means you will save time by not having to re-record every answer because someone walked by the conference room or a phone rang on the other side of the cubicle. Offices are a great work environment, but they are terrible for recording clean audio.
Studios are also great if you want a specific setup like a green screen. Green screen shoots work best with the right lighting and the right backdrop. Wrinkled sheets and overhead lighting make for very difficult keying (aka removing the background). Filming in a studio with a built-in green screen means your editing will be easier, and the video will look better.
But Angela, you said it could be cheaper than filming at your company's office? How?
Besides saving you time (which we all know means saving money), studio rentals come with major perks. Our studio rental is only $50/hour, and includes grip gear. But the real savings comes when you hire us to film. On-location packages have a minimum number of hours, since setting up lights take a long time. But when you book one of our in-studio packages, the lights are preset before you arrive. That means we are to book filming in the studio by the hour - not by the day. For $1,000 our one-hour package includes both filming and editing. When you are looking for a quick, affordable video, our studio packages are the way to go. Learn more about them on our website!
