PORTRAIT SESSION UPDATE: 1/20/2021

Though postcards were sent via Prestige about portrait sessions the week of 1/25/2021, these sessions will not be held, due to Penn’s quiet period from now until February 1, 2021. Photo sessions are planned for later in the semester, and emails will be sent out accordingly via the senior listserv in order to inform students of the dates. Signups will also later be available.

Accommodations will be made for seniors who are not on campus. We will be taking portrait submissions via email, but guidelines for these submissions are still being finalized. We will send these finalized guidelines out via email in the coming weeks, and the information will be available on our website as well.

Calling Penn undergrads: have photos or stories to share from your time at Penn? Submit your photos to the yearbook! The Record is taking submissions for our 2021 book, and we will do our best to include as many student contributions as we can. For photo submission guidelines and links, as well as an interview contact form to share your stories, visit therecordyearbook.org/submit-content! We strongly suggest that you send your photos in by January 31, 2021 so that our staff has enough time to find a place for your photos in our spreads!

Penn Pledges $100 Million to the School District of Philadelphia

Penn’s contribution to the School District of Philadelphia – $10 million annually for 10 years – will be used to remediate environmental hazards, including asbestos and lead, in our public school buildings. This funding will have an immediate impact, supplementing the ongoing efforts of the City and District, and enabling them to dramatically accelerate and expand their response to environmental concerns in our public schools.

“Nothing is more important than the health and welfare of our children, and few things are more crucial to a community than the safety and quality of its public schools,” said Penn's President Amy Gutmann.

To our 2021 seniors and customers: here's some more information about senior portraits, book pricing, and content!

Portraits are not being held on campus this semester. If campus is open in the Spring, we are hoping to hold on campus sessions; otherwise, we will ask seniors to send in a portrait that they would like printed in the book. Further information will be provided about portrait sessions/submissions in the future.

Fun fact! 100 years ago we didn't have "varsity"/"IML"/"club" sports distinctions. Instead, we had "major" and "minor" sports. Apparently, the students who came back to a school impacted by war and pandemic were particularly interested in participating in sports!
