WKDU Philadelphia 91.7 FM is Drexel University's award winning college radio station. We are operated by Drexel University students, with several Drexel alumni serving as on-air DJs. We are the only free-format non-commercial radio station in Philadelphia. Our transmitter is located on the roof of Van Rensselaer Hall in Powelton Village, and our studio is located in the basement of the Creese Student Center.

Run come sing along to all the classics, from “O Holy Night” to “Santa Claus, Do You Ever Come To The Ghetto?”, as WKDU Philadelphia 91.7FM presents JamCity Rock’s 15th Annual Reggae Christmas.   From 6-8pm on December 18th, Mikey will be spinning Christmas songs by Bob Marley and the Wailers, Eek-A-Mouse, Prince Buster, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Ini Kamoze and a tonload more.  And expect a Christmas Miracle or two as, through the magic of radio, we will hear from JamCity Rock’s original host Duprex Snape, recorded during Reggae Christmas shows past.

HEAVY METAL GIVEAWAY 🤘

If you love metal, you already know that Crypt Sermon is one of the best bands in the city. Heavy beyond heavy and with riffs for days, this is everything you want from doom! The five piece have been around for more than a dozen years and played with so many of the greats. They even got to open for Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden recently, which is just so sick.

Next Thursday they are headlining Underground Arts alongside Mammoth Grinder and Switchblade. We are stoked to be able to give away TWO PAIRS of tickets to this show! Tag a friend and you are entered. Leave as many comments as you’d like. We will pick a winner Wednesday night at 8pm.

⏰🔔 GIVEAWAY ALERT!! 🔔⏰

There is no other band quite like Stinking Lizaveta. The doom metal trio – drums, guitar, and upright bass – have been together for more than three decades and in that time put out nine albums, toured the world, and very much have become part of the fabric of the Philadelphia scene.

They are also good friends of WKDU and we have been playing them on the radio since their very first 7” came out back in 1994.

On Friday the 21st they will be tearing up Johnny Brenda’s on an all-Philly bill with Deathbird Earth and Channls. It is also the latter’s record release, which is very exciting.
