WKDU Philadelphia 91.7 FM is Drexel University's award winning college radio station. We are operated by Drexel University students, with several Drexel alumni serving as on-air DJs. We are the only free-format non-commercial radio station in Philadelphia. Our transmitter is located on the roof of Van Rensselaer Hall in Powelton Village, and our studio is located in the basement of the Creese Student Center.

Additionally we’d like to announce that, after tallying our totals and accounting for donations that were finalized after the weekend ended, we raised a whopping $15,000 total for the !!!! After accounting and expenses, that brings us to a total of $5,000 we will be donating to .project, and we are so thankful for everyone’s support getting us there!

From 6-8pm on December 19th, Mikey will be spinning Christmas songs by Bob Marley and the Wailers, Eek-A-Mouse, Prince Buster, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Dennis Brown and a tonload more. And expect a Christmas Miracle or two as, through the magic of radio, we will hear from JamCity Rock’s original host Duprex Snape, recorded during Reggae Christmas shows past.

Pol Haus is bringing Shugazi back onto the airwaves for the month of December!

Shugazi (.shugazi) does it all: DJ, visuals maestro, events architect. Find him experimenting at HIGH BEAM () or as well as Rock The House (). Expect an electrifying, jittery set of house, tech and breaks →⁠_⁠→

Shugazi will kick it off at 4 PM, followed by Onna Mule at 5.

Hello lovely listeners, we are back with another antenna update ! Skouf, Will, and I recently took a journey back to our transmitter room to try and do some troubleshooting, and … we were successful ( kind of ) ! Without getting too technical, we were able to get our main transmitter working at 100% power and let it run for about 10 minutes to ensure that this was really happening and not a dream. Unfortunately, however, we cannot keep our main transmitter at this power due to wiring concerns, but this is a step ! Thank you all again for bearing with us as we continue to try and solve this issue. We’ll be back to normal as soon as possible, but for right now, you can still hear us in Center City, West Philly, and closer parts of North and South Philly as well as on our online stream ( link in bio) !

James () is a WKDU alumni, creating atmospheric ambient pieces for 7 years while recently getting into the dance space. For Pol Haus, they’ve lined up a modular synth set that’ll focus on some clean punchy sounds, you’ll feel like dancing on the ISS ƪ⁠(⁠‾⁠.⁠‾⁠“⁠)⁠┐

Tu Hjumen will be performing at 10 PM, followed by a mix from Onna Mule at 11.

WKDU’s 2024 Electronic Music Marathon was a HUGE success! We raised $13,667 in support of .project !

Shang has been a consistent DJ figure in Philly for many years and many many function, running on tasteful house and techno pickings. Being a constant force on Club Congress, Shang brings out a refined palate for all to freak to.
