here’s to fresh starts, tiny paws, and rediscovering me. 🤍

the end of last week knocked me down a little.

thursday was a long day at treatment with my dad, and then on friday we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our very first kitty 💔

my heart needed a little time.

but life has a funny way of making room for joy, because by saturday, billy and i somehow each came home with a kitten. 🥹

this week i’m choosing to get back on track, settle back into my routine, and keep rediscovering the version of me i’ve been working so hard to find.

today’s win?

my blue slush finally tastes like blue slush again.

it’s wild how much joy can come from something so small… especially after weeks of medications making everything taste metallic.

sometimes rediscovering yourself isn’t always the big, life-changing moments.

sometimes it’s your favorite drink tasting like your favorite drink again. 🥹

my completely made-up life rule:

if i can’t do hair, makeup and clothes…

i have to pick at least 2.

today’s choices:
✔️ straight hair

❌ makeup

honestly… i’m counting it. 😂

i disappeared for a week.

not because i wanted to… i just didn’t have it in me.

chronic illness has a way of turning life upside down. changing medications has left me exhausted, my sleep bank is currently 3–5 hours in the hole 😅, my house is a disaster, i’m still mourning my daily blue slush alani while i wait for another med change (rip 💔), and honestly… i’ve felt like i’ve lost a little bit of me.

so instead of trying to magically have everything together overnight, i’m starting here.

day 1.

this week isn’t about perfection. it’s about doing one, two, maybe three little things each day that make me feel like me again.

because maybe that’s how you rediscover yourself… not all at once, but one tiny routine at a time.

if you’ve been feeling stuck lately, consider this your permission slip to start small with me. 🤍

it’s funny what becomes normal when you don’t really have another choice.

some of these accommodations happened on purpose. others just… slowly became part of my everyday life until i forgot they were even accommodations.

this is what life has looked like along the way. 🤍♿️

i’m convinced everyone has at least one routine that would make other people go 🤨

these are mine.

some started because of my disability. some happened because i’m a type a person. and now they’re so automatic that i don’t even realize i’m doing them anymore.

please tell me i’m not the only one with oddly specific routines 😂
