If you speak too fast, your audience may hear your words—but miss your message.👎
When you rush, important points can fly by before your listeners have time to process them. And if they can’t absorb what you’re saying, they’re far less likely to remember it.💥
The good news? Slowing down doesn’t mean speaking slowly. It means giving your audience enough time to listen, understand, and absorb your key points.🎤
🎥 In today’s Public Speaking Tip of the Day, I share 3 easy steps to stop speaking too fast—without sounding unnatural or losing your energy.
▶️ Watch the video to learn how to slow your pace and make sure your most important points actually land.👇

You know your name. You know what you do. So why is it sometimes so hard to introduce yourself without rambling? 😬
Someone asks, “Tell me about yourself…” and suddenly you’re giving your entire career history, adding unnecessary details, and wondering how to land the plane. ✈️
A strong introduction isn’t about saying MORE. It’s about knowing WHAT MATTERS to the person listening—and getting there quickly. 🎯
💥 The goal: Be CLEAR, CONCISE and MEMORABLE—without sounding rehearsed.
In my latest article, I share a simple approach to help you introduce yourself with confidence, whether you’re in a meeting, networking, speaking to a client, or answering that dreaded “So, what do you do?” question.

Filler words are one of the biggest credibility killers in communication.💥 They can make even the most knowledgeable expert sound less confident, less polished, and less authoritative.👎
“Um… so… like… basically…”. You may not even realize you’re saying them—but your audience does.🙁
The good news? You don’t have to eliminate them by trying harder not to say “um.” There’s a much easier technique.🎯
🎥 In today’s Tip of the Day, I teach you how to stop using filler words—and replace them with something far more powerful.⭐️

How do you answer a difficult question without getting flustered, defensive—or talking yourself into trouble?❓
After 23 years as a television investigative reporter and anchor, I’ve seen thousands of people face tough questions.🎥
And here’s something I learned: The people who came across as the most confident weren’t necessarily the ones who had the perfect answer. They were the ones who knew how to respond under pressure.💥
A few strategies I teach my executive coaching and media training clients:
🔹 Don’t rush to answer. A brief pause doesn’t make you look unprepared. It makes you look thoughtful.
🔹 Think in headlines. Before you start explaining, identify your main point and lead with it. Your audience should know where you’re going from the first sentence.
🔹 Don’t guess. If you don’t know the answer, say so. Credibility is built on accuracy—not having an answer for everything.
🔹 Don’t match someone else’s emotion. If a question is confrontational, stay calm and composed. Your audience is evaluating your response just as much as the question.
🔹 Answer the question—and stop. Nervous speakers often volunteer far more information than necessary. One of my favorite reminders: “The more you say, the more you stray.”
🔹 Remember that difficult questions are opportunities. They give you a chance to demonstrate your expertise, professionalism, composure, and credibility.
People may not remember every question you were asked. But they will remember how you handled it. 🤩I share more lessons from my years on both sides of the interview—and practical strategies for handling high-stakes Q&A—in my latest article:🎯

Want to sound more confident and credible?💥 Stop accidentally talking yourself out of your own expertise. 🤩
Certain “doubt phrases” — like “I think…” — can make you sound less certain, even when you know exactly what you’re talking about. 👎
🎤 In today’s Public Speaking Tip of the Day, I’m sharing 3 phrases to stop saying if you want to communicate with more confidence, authority, and credibility. 🎯
Small language changes. Big difference in how people hear you. 👂
