The Bridge Magazine The Bridge features women writing about what they know. We aim to be a community that mimics a family; sharing advice, stories, and of course, dirty jokes.

Dear Sage features everyday women writing about what they know. Women talk to you directly about their experiences. No need for professional writers, just women willing to dive deep into their own memories. Readers become the writers and writers become the readers. We aim to build a community that mimics a family; sharing advice, stories, and of course, dirty jokes.

Hi there 👋 Aubrey here (the human behind this account). Life has been crazy—graduating college, a new job, a new apartment, and the passing of a pet. I’m feeling depleted and creatively empty. This is my passion project but I’m simply low on passion right now! Just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a little break to recharge and recenter, but will be back to deliver more girl power realness soon. I’m still planning to publish issue 4 in the fall—so to everyone who submitted, thank you! Your messages were received and I’ll be reaching out to you. In the meantime, sending love and this reminder from that everything will be okay ❌⭕️ @ Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Today's is ! Caitlin's charming and delicate illustrations show her unique perspective on the world. Read more about her below and follow for truly one-of-a-kind work.⠀
〰️⠀⠀
Caitlin Peck is an artist and illustrator in Philadelphia. Her work is an attempt to understand the fickleness of memory, the sensitivity of relationships, and the complications of being. Using elements of childhood, nature, magic, and a little humor, her drawings combine fine-line details performing as fragility and obsession. You can see her work often in Philadelphia. She is currently showing at Love City Brewing and has prints available at Nice Things Handmade, The Common Room, and Ritual Ritual. She also shows in New York City and LA with Cactus Gallery. Check out her Instagram, complete with her art, selfies, and her perfect toothless cat. ⠀

This week's is .bsa! Her page is a celebration of color, representation, and womanhood. She creates pieces that put women at the center, depicting them with power and independence. In other words, her page feels like the visual equivalent to a Beyonce song. Also— 👀 for the Fleabag reference!

"I’m a Brazilian graphic designer and illustrator, currently living in Italy. I’ve been passionate about drawing since I was a kid, and I always like to give handmade birthday gifts for my friends, so that’s how I kind of rediscovered my drawings. I merged that with my love for patterns and colors and my desire to see female figures by the eyes of a woman, saying and doing things that we like to see."⠀

"I was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland. I was exposed to many wonderful Nordic artists, children’s book author and illustrator Tove Jansson as one of my all-time favorites. At seventeen years old, I moved to the States to study and practice illustration.

My work balances between drawing and painting, to create tactile and multi-layered imagery. I'm obsessed with colors, fun characters and distorting space.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I dabble in all mediums, but right now I'm primarily working in matte acrylics and color pencils- my process is traditional from start to finish."⠀⠀

Happy Sunday friends! Wanted to take a minute to announce a new sister site to The Bridge called Our Ladies of the Screen.

Our Ladies of the Screen is a website that worships (see the halos...get it?) complex female characters in TV. We feature in depth profiles on each character discussing what sets them apart and why their existence is meaningful.

On a personal note, this project was born out of my senior thesis project at The University of the Arts. As an avid tv watcher (I don’t do much on the weekends), this is a topic that I could talk endlessly about. Having a space to nerd out about all the incredibly women on TV right now is truly a dream. You might be able to tell that there’s a theme in what interests me personally, and it almost always has to do with excellent storytelling around women’s experiences. Come join me in worshipping some badass women!
