“I grew up watching Back To The Future, and I never questioned what that really meant.
As I step into my next journey, I’ve learned what that really means. I have been blessed with the opportunity to go back to the past, revisit old ideas, try to fix problems, and shape a better tomorrow.
Let me be clear: those problems and old ideas are mine, but shaping a better tomorrow is OURS, and I’m excited about the future. A few weeks ago I met with the beautiful people of the Seattle Jazz Community to break bread, discuss music, and get ready for the upcoming Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra season.
I look forward to honoring Michael Brockman’s legacy while evolving the sound and message of the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. Our first meet-and-greet was an awesome event, and as we move forward, I look forward to meeting more of the beautiful people of the Seattle Jazz Community.
Please check out our 2026-2027 season, and thank you, SRJO, Seattle Jazz Fellowship, Seattle Jazz Academy, and all the amazing humans I’ve met so far! I can’t wait for you all to check it out and see what’s cooking!” -Orrin Evans
