Two things! We’re going to be part of a little bookfair in Milwaukie, OR this Sunday from 3-6. Come out and say hi. There will be dancing books and beers on skateboards, as depicted on this poster!

Shane Kowalski and Even Nicholls will be there with their mighty books, and Future Tense publisher Kevin Sampsell does his first oreading from his upcoming novel, Baby in the Night. FUN FACT: When we were thinking of what the new Shane Kowalski book was going to look like, fate stepped in when we rediscovered the amazing 1974 Grace Paley collection, Enormous Changes at the Last Minute, at a thrift store. With its stylish presentation and funny photo/caption on back, we decided to totally mimic Grace’s brilliant book. As Paley fans, we were thrilled when cover designer Fiona Kobasz found the exact font (Chisel) and we were able to use it. The paperback of this Paley collection, btw, does NOT have the iconic Paley author photo on back (see last slide). 😊🕵🏻‍♂️
