Pakistan is observing National Minorities Day today, honoring the contributions of non-Muslim citizens and reaffirming their constitutional rights. Political leaders across the country paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam’s historic August 11, 1947 speech, which promised equality for all faiths in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called minority rights both a constitutional duty and religious obligation, praising their sacrifices for the nation. President Zardari emphasized interfaith harmony, while Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announced official celebrations for Diwali, Holi, Christmas, and Easter—a first in the province.
From Minority Cards offering financial aid to the restoration of religious sites, leaders pledged inclusive policies. The day, marked since 2009, serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s foundation: justice, equality, and unity in diversity.
