Safety is paramount. Last year's OSHA report was released, do you recognize any of these violations in your work place? Stay vigilant!

The top OSHA violations for fiscal year 2023 include:

Fall Protection≈General Requirements: 7,271 violations
Hazard Communication (chemicals): 3,213 violations
Ladders: 2,978 violations
Scaffolding: 2,859 violations
Powered Industrial Trucks: 2,561 violations
Lockout/Tagout: 2,554 violations
Respiratory Protection: 2,481 violations
Fall Protection–Training Requirements: 2,112 violations
Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment–Eye and Face Protection: 2,074 violations
Machine Guarding: 1,644 violations

The penalty amount for serious, other-than-serious, and willful or repeated violations each increased 3.2% compared with 2023.

Congratulations, Cody!

PBA and the York Builders Association congratulate Cody Warner for receiving a PBA Endorsed Trade Program scholarship. Cody is a Construction Trades student at the York County School of Technology. Cody was nominated by his instructor Nick Sabold.

Cody wants to start his own business focusing on renovations and plans to use the scholarship to expand his tool collection.

The Pennsylvania Builders Association is committed to a sustainable, superior construction industry. To accomplish this, we must all work together to support workforce development.

The Endorsed Trade Program was designed to work with schools across Pennsylvania to provide students with industry-recognized certification to strengthen their skills and qualifications. The program created a network between PBA members, local student chapters, and the community that provides training and confidence to launch students into a fulfilling career.
