Today I’m reacting to a case where an NFL player was accused of assault, went to trial, and the jury found him not guilty.

This is bigger than one athlete.

A serious accusation can destroy someone’s career, reputation, money, and freedom before all the facts come out.

In this case, the testimony, text messages, payment dispute, and money demand made the whole situation look worse and worse.

I believe real victims should be taken seriously.

But false accusations should also come with real consequences.

Because when someone lies about something this serious, it hurts innocent people and makes it harder for real victims to be believed.

Why?

Because it hits the bigger feeling.

People already feel this.

The topic is also backed by real movement. Census-based data found nearly 6% of school-aged children were reported as homeschooled in 2022–23, compared with 2.8% in 2019. Reading concerns are also timely because 2024 NAEP reading scores were lower than 2022 and 2019 for 4th graders.
