St. Joseph Church celebrated the Corpus Christi Procession today. The procession began at the church, down 44th Street to the Promenade and down the promenade stopping at 43rd Street for prayer. Dating back to 1264, the Corpus Christi procession is a public affirmation of faith, where believers process the Real Presence of Jesus—the Eucharist—through the streets, expressing their devotion to Christ in this sacred sacrament. It’s a beautiful way to honor the significance of the Eucharist in the life of the Church and its members. 🙏🏼

According to The Township of Upper, the board has approved three single family homes to replace the former16-unit structure that dated back to 1923, but as of May 24, no applications have been filed.

Who let the dogs out? As of 3PM today it was Sea Isle City when they cut the ribbon the finest dog park in South Jersey. Lots of room for dogs to run, exercise and play -- and plenty of areas of shade for their humans to relax. It's located at 8th Street and Landis Avenue. Here, Mayor Len Desiderio and cuts the ribbon while his dog Bruno looks on.

Close to 100 family, friends and former business associates were on hand this morning for a moving ceremony when the South Jersey Transportation Authority dedicated a plaque and portrait at their administration building's conference room in honor of Sea Isle City's Jim Iannone. In addition to the many roles in his hometown Iannone was also a founding commissioner, vice chair and executive director of the SJTA. A well-deserved tribute to a great man. We'll have complete coverage along with even more photos in our Memorial Day issue.

GONE TO THE DOGS...
It was blustery this morning when Sea Isle City Mayor Lenoard Desiderio and a bevy of two legged and four-legged VIP's officially broke ground on Sea Isle City's new $967,931 dog park. Cape May County has approved more than $850,000 in funding for the project. Sea Isle City Council awarded the construction contract on August 22. The facility, which, weather permitting, will open in 2024 includes two fenced in areas, for large and small dogs; each with ground surfaces, a shade pavilion and water stations; playground fixtures for dogs and benches. The project also includes a picnic pavilion, bicycle racks and a bike repair station. Pet owners will not be charged a fee to enjoy the new facility but all dogs entering the park must be licensed and immunized.
