We offer classes at our South Street studio facilities located at 818 South Street in Philadelphia, PA (19147). This is our main location and includes a full studio suite (control room and live room/booth) as well as a multi-system MIDI lab.
The Audio Engineering Program is an in-depth educational experience that teaches students the fundamentals of recording. From the history of the craft to the various skills, techniques and tools necessary to achieve professional quality recordings, the Audio Engineering Program provides the comprehensive training to fully equip students for solid careers and/or personal fulfillment. Class activities include effective use of Compressors, Equalizers, Software Mixers, Editing and more. The six-month curriculum allows students to explore the field of audio engineering while working on their own projects, as well as working with other artists, musicians, and bands.
The Music Production Program teaches the fundamentals of music production and composition. From original music composition to sample-based works, students in the production program will have the opportunity to learn numerous software tools, as well as traditional music theory, to craft music in various styles and genres. Best of all, they will focus the majority of their attention on the types of music that they are most interested in. Classes include Reason 5.0, keyboard theory, rhythm basics, using sequencers, sampling, and more. The Music Production Program is also a six-month curriculum that allow for individual productions, as well as collaborative projects.
All classes culminate with a testing period that includes written and hands-on components. All students who pass this testing phase will receive Certificates of Completion in their discipline of focus.
