Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, the University has just informed us (with no advance notice) that we will not have access to our radio station located in the Hollenback Center on 30th and South Street from April 2023 - April 2024 due to renovations of the building. Rather than helping us find a temporary location or offering any other accommodation, we were told that relocation is "not a feasible option since there is no comparable space, and it is cost prohibitive."

This shut-down will impact the group in ways that are irreparable, such as disassembling the advanced wiring of our broadcasting technologies to taking away 80 years worth of vinyl/cds from our use. WQHS is more than just a club, we are a community. Many members rely on this group for creative expression and for an escape from the pressures of Penn.

It is disappointing knowing the University does not see value in public broadcasting and is unwilling to make the necessary accommodations for our members. Please sign our petition demanding a temporary relocation of our station and help college radio stay alive!

Move WQHS to a temporary location.

Another COVID interview; this time: Hollow Comet 🤝 Shout out Kelly Liu for the continuous wonderful content!

Hollow Comet first catches our attention with its sweet, crooning acoustic style, then with its unbridled exploration of an electronic sound evoking the haunting and the cinematic. Strange Ranger vocalist Isaac Eiger began releasing songs under his solo project, Hollow Comet, a little over a...

Read Kelly Liu's review of the new Tennis joint 🎾

https://wqhsradio.org/?p=6708

Comprised of the husband-and-wife duo Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, Tennis has been releasing full-length album since 2011, and, without ever losing their distinctive retro flair, the pair’s sound has only grown more refined. Though Tennis is scheduled to perform at Union Transfer in late...

What will probably be our last concert review for a while (so eat it up!!)

Tunika got to see Glass Animals before s**t started hitting the fan 🥳

https://wqhsradio.org/?p=6696

Some bands are worth going the distance for; Glass Animals is one of those bands. Truthfully New York City isn’t actually all that far from Philadelphia, unless it’s a Wednesday and you’ve got a busy, class-filled Thursday—in that case it may not make too much sense. Still, I figured they wo...

Can't have fun because you're cooped up in the crib? Read about WILL having fun at the of Montreal show 🎉

https://wqhsradio.org/?p=6690

The concept of fun is directly foregrounded on of Montreal’s new album and tour, and I am grateful for the increase in representation of this subject. Fun has had a disappointingly shallow exploration in philosophical thought. While Plato, Kant, Hegel, and the rest of them poured out their...

With their 2018 hit “Prom Queen,” Chicago-based Beach Bunny captured countless of hearts with a stream of power-pop anthems. Lead singer Lili Trifilio’s voice is impressed with magnetism and verve, her lyrics full of heart and spirit — uniquely plucky and defiant, often sad yet always laced ...

Since WQHS has some actual integrity:

1. We compiled our FAVORITE albums of the 2010s, not the "best" albums of the decade because that is impossible and dumb
2. We released it a month into 2020 rather than in 2019 because it is an albums of the 2010s list, not albums of the 2010s minus December 2019

Enjoy our writers talking about things they love 🙂

What's the truth behind the world of journalism?
This week we have Erica R. Hendry, the Managing Editor of content and strategy across the PBS NewsHour’s mobile and digital platforms. Her story of navigating the media field is truly awe-inspiring - a must hear journey for students and executives alike in any industry.

Super excited for this week's guest interview on by WQHS Radio 🥳

Join is to find out more about her experience in breaking news reporting, digital and long-form storytelling, video producing and editing, social media management and audience engagement.

Thank you to Sin Chew Newspaper for publishing my story as a student entrepreneur and for sharing about the different things that I do in college as a student at Penn 🥳🥳

Shout out to Wharton Women Undergraduates for writing a spotlight article on my entrepreneurial journey a while ago that was picked up by both the Sin Chew Daily and Guangming Daily-光明日报 Newspapers that inspired this article!!

Glad that Wharton Women was featured in this article too and that more people can get to know this lovely student led organisation that supports female entrepreneurs here at Penn and in Philadelphia.

Also proud to have my segment, Changing Reality, on Penn's Student run at WQHS Radio featured in the article as well. It's been so much fun living my dreams as a DJ and host this semester with them.

To all the lovely people from here in Malaysia and Philly, thank you for always believing in me and giving me the opportunity to share more about the things I do, in hopes that other students can take up entrepreneurship too and see the resources available to them in their own schools, universities and pages.

Check out the article here:
