I am very excited to share with you my creations in customized dolls. My dolls meant the world to me! ... to this day they continue to fill my world with joy! It would be unfair to say that I just started at this "doll making thing" even as a child I would sit for hours playing with dolls. I had an intense fascination with dolls. I use to cut up my family's socks and clothing to make my doll cloth
es. Styling the doll's hair was my favorite thing to do. I also loved making up hair styles for myself and others. I knew that becoming a hairstylist was something that I wanted to do. Shortly after high school I attended Gordon Phillips School of Cosmetology where I graduated and became a professional hair stylist ... this is what intrigued me the most about the dolls. I loved doing their hair! Actually this was just a hobby of mine that I would stop and start for years! But something kept leading me back to the dolls to try and make them better than the last ones. The story is that my sister Tammy had a birthday coming up, I was short on cash. At the time I couldn't get her the gift that I wanted her to have. So I was going through my basket of dolls, I was noticing that the dolls were looking like people that I knew and some celebrities, and also one that favored her. So the idea struck me to create for her a look-a-like doll, dressed like her and the whole nine. I thought that this would be a great gift for her. I was thinking that this would be special and a keepsake. So when I gave her the doll she was blown away! She posted it on a social media site called BOB (Black Owned Businesses) it was a hit! I really wasn't expecting anything! Tammy called me the next day to tell me of all the comments and compliments that the doll was getting! It seemed like everyone wanted a doll. I felt overwhelmed because I couldn't accommodate everyone. So ready or not I had to do something. I wasn't prepared to start a business, but I had to (this is my passion) so I started "LORIginal Dolls". This is something that I absolutely love doing. So please join me in my doll making journey. It would be my pleasure to create a look-a-like doll for you. Lori A.Morris
