On our stories, we will be spotlighting books we regularly stock by Latinx authors and amplifying Latinx-owned bookstores and Latinx booksellers. Shop and support, and if you don't see a title in stock, remember you can always direct order it with us.
If you're interested in knowing more, join Bookshop.org on October 5th for a virtual Town Hall with Latinx bookstore owners from Cafe Con Libros, Libelula, La Revo Books. Links and resources in our bio.

Let’s connect and create empathy one book at a time! 😍
Oh a little zoom romance for “Friday I’m in Love?” Don’t mind if I do. Meet Jess and Sam who celebrated their anniversary at our store for Date Night this summer:
“We met during the pandemic, over Zoom in our school's creative writing club. We saw each other in the corners of our computer screens for a year. We were shy. We didn't say much to each other, but Jess, in her introverted way, was persistent. She signed up to be vice president of the club, while Sam was president. She'd make excuses to have meetings with him, hoping to get to know this cute, mysterious boy who had once been a corner of her computer screen. Seeing each other in person for the first time, having a "club meeting" at a sandwich place, we knew that we weren't going to be a chapter in each other's lives. We were going to have a whole novel together. We celebrated our one year anniversary at a bookstore, because there was our love for each other, and then there was the love for words which brought us together.”
H&H Books stands in solidarity with the educators, librarians, and booksellers who uphold the right to read widely, freely, and empathetically. The data snapshots around the censorship trends in U.S. public school systems we’re sharing on our stories tell a disturbing story of bigotry and underline the need for safe spaces where books and readers are protected.
Celebrate with us and buy one of the banned books we have in store. We’re here until 5 PM today Sept 22 and 12-5 Fri-Sun.

We’re back with a little “Friday, I’m in Love.” Stories from our Date Night couples of how they met, fell in love, and/or are maintaining a kick ass relationship. Today we have Ariel and Jason, who met the old fashioned way (on Bumble) and the then have proceeded into cuteness. Read their story below.
“We matched on Bumble in mid-February 2022 and had our first date later that month at the in Northern Liberties. Within minutes, it was clear to both of us this wasn’t just another first date. After chatting at a nearby park until we could no longer feel our toes, we went our separate ways. But an afternoon of non-stop texting led us to meet up again that night for part 2, which included watching Encanto, eating ice cream and belly rubs for Ariel’s wonderful dog, Lucy. Since then, our relationship has blossomed and we continue to joke that it feels like we've been dating for much longer than 6 months. Together, we enjoy trying new recipes and restaurants, playing the NYT Crossword app, taking walks with Lucy, and watching shared TV shows like Top Chef and Hacks. Ariel’s love for reading led us to H&H this past July for a surprise 30th birthday celebration!”
Meet Kalela Williams, Lauren Hilger, Connie Yu, and Julian Shendelman.
These lovely humans will be reading at the shop on Thursday, September 15 at 7:30 PM as part of a new series called “Personal Velocity" organized by Katie Bennett.
The series will feature personal stories (creative nonfiction/ memoir) by Philadelphia-based writers who identify as women, non-binary, and trans.

Reposted : “Last week, the Central Bucks School District approved a library policy that paves the way for removing books with ‘sexualized content’ from schools. The contentious plan was approved by a 6-3 vote in Pa.’s third-largest school district, amid a growing movement nationwide to ban books from school libraries and curriculums.”
Gender Q***r, All Boys Aren’t Blue, and The Hate You Give are books we stock regularly. We will also be stocking these others because f*ck this.

Our new bookstore is really going to blow your mind. And speaking of that bookstore, we’re opening in less than a week on Friday, March 4! Come out for a little opening night celebration!
Too many pictures to fit into a 10 picture post limit so here’s a little slideshow to celebrate our 3 years at 2644 Coral St. Goodbye, sweet space. Thanks for the memories.
It’s a hard time right now. Post holiday let down, missed family members, cancelled plans and more COVID uncertainty. I was going through old papers looking for something and came across this card Linda gave me at the beginning of 2021. It gave me a bit more hope on this chilly day. We can do hard things, folks. ❤️ -Claire
It’s transparency time, folks: booksellers are among the many bracing for the effects of supply chain strain this holiday season.
