The members of the Penn Political Review Executive Board are united in the fight against systemic racism and police brutality. We stand behind the black community of Penn, Philadelphia, and America at large. We honor the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the countless other victims of senseless violence. We will not forget them. We stand in solidarity with those grappling with the trauma caused by centuries of racial inequity.

We commit to fighting prejudice and holding ourselves and our communities accountable. We pledge to continue to listen, read, and speak about racial injustice.

We are donating to Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and Black Visions Collective to extend our support beyond words.

Our mission is to amplify Penn students’ voices on political issues and spark discourse between a multitude of viewpoints. We will continue to foster conversations around equality, respect, and human rights.

Perhaps the most fundamental question in politics: to what extent should the government reach into our lives? In his two newest interviews, Bala Thenappan sinks his teeth into viewpoints on opposite ends of the ideological spectrum. See below for links to Bala's conversations with Rossanna Cambron, Co-chair of the American Communist Party and Nicholas Sarwark, Chair of the Libertarian Party.

This is a survey to determine the opinions of Penn's most politically active students on issues related to the upcoming presidential election. Taking the survey will not identify your identity to us or anyone else. We hope to publish our results in the DP.

Read Paul Litwin's article on the United States's relationship with China and Hong Kong, and the need for having a soft touch in dealing with the latter.

"The degree of Hong Kong’s autonomy from China is of note to the United States government, not only out of its respect for democratic rule and political autonomy, but also due to the bilateral connections between the United States and the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong that afford it special economic, legal, and commercial policies from mainland China."

The protests in Hong Kong, touching every aspect of Hong Kong society from the MRT to the airport to schools and sports stadiums, are not simply about the extradition to mainland China. Carrie Lam,…

Rising junior Alex Yang had been reading about the war in Afghanistan and wanted to explore the topic in more depth, so he reached out to his colleague at Penn Political Review. The result is “The Forever War,” a series in the undergraduate political magazine. https://bit.ly/2ALQflq
Hi everyone,

Decoding the Campaign World is a series sponsored by the Fels Student Association. "Insurgent Campaigns" is the second event in the series, designed to give students insight into political careers by bringing prominent leaders to share candid experience and advice.

In spring 2020, Nikil Saval and Rick Krajewski shook the political world by defeating long-time incumbents to secure the Democratic nominations for two legislative seats in the PA State Legislature. Their races attracted national attention as part of a wave of victories by progressive anti-establishment candidates in 2020.

The event will be hosted on Zoom on Thursday, July 9 at 6 PM.

The zoom link is here: https://sasupenn.zoom.us/j/91222523818

Thanks & regards,

Samar Jha
