For years I've been talking about how producers (and some artists) are making albums in which ALL THE MUSIC SOUNDS THE SAME.

That's the BLANDSCAPE.

SOMETIMES this works - like when you're doing an ambient album, or a dance album, or you're just a genius.

MOSTLY it DOESN'T WORK. It gets same-y, boring, one-note. There's no range.

SOME of the albums I review come from the BLANDSCAPE. Others openly defy it.
