The first horse race I ever attended was the Kentucky Derby. I didnt even know how to bet and didn't really care for the Mint Julep.

As a journalist I received access to the paddock. And on my last vist, I even sat in one of the special boxes.

The parties and other exciting events in Louisville provided one of the most exciting weekends I've ever experienced.

When Obama left office, Pathfinders sponsored a, Thank You Mr. President, NO Drama Obama party at the African American Museum of Philadelphia.

It was black-tie, with food, dancing, and a book reading by Michael Days.

Karen James sent this picture as a reminder of that beautiful day.

We'll have to do something like this again. I'm finally over my depression regarding the election, but not quite ready to do political work, but we'll do something.

Pastor Marshall Mitchell of Salem Baptist Church of Abington asked what do you think the perfect coffee shop looks like?
Coffee, events, location, decor? Your thoughts?

Here are a few favorite blends I've brought home from my travels.

I first visited an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic more than 20 years ago.

We had founded Pathfinders Travel Magazine five years earlier, and after years of grinding out 12-hour days, we needed a break.

So, a week of lounging around, eating and drinking for 7 days were just what was needed.

Our last all-inclusive trip was in Varadero, Cuba and after three days of repetitive food, non-stop pulsating music, and games for which I wanted no part, I was bored and ready to go in search of greater adventure.

What about you? Do you prefer all-inclusive resorts, independent hotels, or small, boutique hotels?

As I child of an Air Force father, we moved annually each summer. We lived, "The Green Book." Daddy wouldn't buy gas from stations that didn't allow us to use the bathroom.

So you can imagine by shock when after spending $51 for take-out at Kelsey and Kim's in Atlantic City, a restaurant we frequent, I was told the bathroom was unavailable after 2 p.m.

I responded, "I wish I had known that before I ordered."

In the 25 years of publishing Pathfinders Travel Magazine, we almost never wrote bad reviews. We figure anybody can have a bad day. So, stating this does not come lightly. But, it'll be a cold day before I set foot in that restaurant again.

Am I right or wrong?
