RiseUpToHIV

World AIDS Day began in 1988 and takes place on December 1st every year. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in remembering those lost to the disease. It is also a day to honor the memories of loved ones lost by raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. Focusing on reducing the stigma of HIV, inspiring hope, and offering support in overcoming shame and discrimination, people around the globe are living their lives in meaningful and empowered ways. World AIDS Day is important because it reminds us that HIV has not gone away - there is still work to be done. Yet, there is also much to celebrate as each day we get closer to realizing the goal of someday ending the epidemic. #WorldAIDSDay #RiseUpToHIV

RiseUpToHIV

Brady, 40, from Nashville, TN, was diagnosed with HIV when he was 33. When he learned of his diagnosis he tried committing suicide twice, because he thought his life was over. His light bulb moment came when a newly diagnosed individual came to him asking him for support, and this is when he realized his life had purpose. Since then, he has turned his life over to volunteerism. Recently, his diagnosis led him on a journey to Africa, where he spent a week volunteering, working with children who have been orphaned due to HIV, and with an HIV+ women’s group. Please watch and share Brady’s positive message, and be sure to wait for the adorable surprise at the end. #RiseUpToHIV #WAD2016

Hey, I'm conducting a survey on the stigma of HIV and related mental health and wellbeing. I currently need more people to complete the survey for my findings to be considered valid, so your time and participation would be greatly appreciated. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary, confidential and anonymous and should take no longer than 30 minutes. The findings of this research will be beneficial to the HIV community. The findings from this research can help improve the mental health and wellbeing of people living with HIV. More information regarding the survey, and the survey itself, can be found on the following link, which is accessible on various devices such as computer and phone: https://exetercles.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0BaGGgCyfszo1sV All the best, Jess
