Out heatwave over the central US continues with the potential for severe weather in the Mid-Atlantic over the next few days!

Soon to be Tropical Storm Edouard is heading straight for Southeast Texas, with a lot of rain on the way. At least this is really the only concern with this system, no severe weather is expected from this. This storm is also moving quickly which will limit the total rainfall but could still see some issues with flooding. In the Pacific, things continue to be very active with two systems, Tropical Storm Lowell and Hurricane Karina. Karina is already a major category 4 hurricane and Lowell is expected to strengthen to a major category 3 hurricane 3 hurricane over the next few days. Not seeing any immideate impacts to Hawaii right now but something to keep an eye on over the next few days.

Tropical Storm Lala is headed straight for the big island of Hawaii and is expected to make landfall on Saturday as a weak Category 1 hurricane. Biggest threats there will be strong winds and a lot of rain, with some areas potentially getting over 2 feet!

Otherwise not really tracking much in the tropics. Tropical Depression Hernan is expected to dissipate soon and development chances in the Atlantic continue to decrease.

We have one Typhoon, one Tropical Depression, and three areas to watch out for in the Pacific. Typhoon Dolphin continues the trek towards China while Tropical Depression Kujira is going to bring a lot of rain to the far north of the Philippines.

We still have three tropical cyclones around the world. However, Bertha is dissipated and we have a new tropical depression in the Eastern Pacific, soon to be Tropical Storm Genevieve. We continue to watch Hurricane Fausto and our confidence has increased that it is h4eading towards Hawaii. However, it is expected to weaken to a low end tropical storm by the time it gets there thanks to some cooler waters and higher wind shear. Right now still too early to say what the exact impacts will be for Hawaii so residents there should still keep an eye on this. Farther out west we still have Severe Tropical Storm Noul that will soon be a low-end Typhoon headed straight towards the southeast China coast with landfall sometime around Saturday-Sunday. After landfall the system will rapidly weaken before dissipating by Monday. Yet a lot of rain is forecasted from this system, so be careful out there!
