On June 2nd, 1863, Harriet Tubman made history, not just as an abolitionist and freedom fighter, but as a military leader.
During the Combahee River Raid, she became the first woman in U.S. history to lead a major military operation, guiding 150 African American Union soldiers troops and freeing more than 700 enslaved people in South Carolina.
Let’s never forget: Harriet Tubman was so much more than the Underground Railroad. She was a soldier, a spy, and a symbol of unstoppable resistance. ✊🏾
