6:47am. Stairstepper. 18 minutes in.

“What the hell am I doing this for? I’m single. Nobody’s even checking for me right now. So… what am I checking for?”

Cue the internal spiral.

Look—I know y’all see me post these workout videos and think I’m out here feeling myself every damn day.

PLOT TWIST: I’m not.

Some mornings I show up to the gym and I’m THRIVING.

Other mornings?

I’m on the stairstepper having a full existential crisis about why I’m even doing this s**t.

And I’m telling you this because I need you to know:

YOU’RE NOT BY YOURSELF IN THOSE MOMENTS.

The “what the f**k am I doing?” moments.

The “why does this feel so hard?” moments.

The “I look good but I don’t even SEE it yet” moments.

I have them too.

And it’s not always pretty. Or motivational. Or Instagram-worthy.

But here’s the thing—

I STILL SHOW UP. Good mood or bad mood. Feeling it or not.

Because growth isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being PRESENT.

And if we’re being honest? Most of us have been numbing and calling it self-care.

Right now, I’m teetering between the two. Some days I nurture. Some days I numb. And you know what? That’s okay.

Most folks think confidence is a vibe you wake up with… but baby, mine was earned one uncomfortable truth at a time.

A young man asked me what people don’t take time to notice about me… and the real answer is this:

𝐌𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.
𝐌𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐈 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲.

For years I made myself small, soft, agreeable just to get my needs met.

Now?
I ask for what I want.

And if you can’t give it to me, I don’t beg… I redirect.

Sharing this because somebody out there is judging their chapter one against my chapter thirty-something… and sis, nothing about this comes easy.

She’s created with intention every single day.

Stop shrinking just because people think you’re too much.

Got a message today from a coworker that stopped me in my tracks.

She’s going through one of the hardest seasons of her life right now.

And she said my energy—just me showing up as myself—made her smile.(I use em dashes. Not AI)

Not because I fixed anything. Not because I had the answers.

Because I didn’t mute myself to make other people comfortable.

Here’s what burnout actually looks like for us:
We don’t get to “step back and take a break.”
We burn out AND still show up to work.
We take care of business while we’re breaking.

That’s why I teach what I teach.
Not so you can push through harder.

So you can regulate your nervous system in real time—while you’re still showing up, still working, still being “too much” for people who can’t handle your light.

“Choosing alignment won’t always feel good—but staying misaligned will cost you everything.”

I had to dig DEEP to find this video.

I’m talking scrolling through old footage, searching everywhere because I knew it was the perfect example of what Speaking Life actually looks like in real time.
No filters.

No script. Just me, standing in front of a mirror, speaking truth over myself when I needed it most:
“I’m not shrinking for peace. I am stretching for the woman I am becoming.”

I said it over and over again. Not because it felt good. But because it was TRUE.

This was before I even knew I’d be co-leading this challenge. Before I created the Mirror Her Mantra.

This was just me.,.raw, real, doing the work when no one was watching.

And THAT’S what speaking life is

It’s not lying to yourself with fake affirmations. It’s looking yourself in the eye and declaring the truth of who you’re becoming—even when it’s uncomfortable.

It’s giving yourself grace while you manifest. It’s speaking over your spirit with intention. It’s knowing you have everything you need to get to the next level.

So today, I want you to look in the mirror and speak TRUTH:

Not what sounds good. What IS good.
Not what feels easy. What feels ALIGNED.
You have everything you need. Now act like it.
