Warner Bros. has announced that the new Lord of the Rings movie will be called Lord of the Rings: Gollum’s Haven and will be directed by actor Ady Serkis in his iconic leading role. Executive production of the film will be done by Ken Kamins, starring Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish of The Imagarium. Jacksoë, Walsh and Boyeës said: “It is an honor and a privilege to travel back to Middle Earth with our good friend and collaborator, Ady Serkis, who has done business with that Sticker: Gollum! As memories of Professor Tolkien’s vast mythology, we’re proud to work with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and the entire Warpër Bros team. on another epic adventure”.

🎬 HIGHLANDER (2026) Reboot Starring Henry Cavill
For the first time, Lionsgate will be launching sales at the AFM on their long-gestating fantasy reboot which has Henry Cavill aboard to star as the eponymous Scottish swordsman and John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski set to direct.
We hear this will be a big-budget proposition, north of $100M. Stahelski himself has previously talked about it as akin to John Wick with swords. The team is eyeing a 2024 start.
The new movie will be based on the 1986 original, which starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings, hunting down one another and collecting more power. The time-jumping film — with its “There can be only one” tagline — spawned four sequels and three TV series including the popular USA series starring Adrian Paul. Queen memorably provided the soundtrack for the original movie.
Producing the reboot are Joshua Davis, Fast And The Furious producer Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski (thru his 87Eleven Entertainment production company) and Louise Rosner.
The current draft of the screenplay is by Mike Finch. The late Peter S. Davis, producer of the original Highlander, initiated development of the new film. Summit first acquired remake rights to the original in 2008.

The Karate Kid is a 1984 American martial arts drama film written by Robert Mark Kamen and directed by John G. Avildsen. It is the first installment of the Karate Kid franchise and stars Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, Elisabeth Shue and William Zabka. The Karate Kid follows Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), a teenager who is taught karate by Mr. Miyagi (Morita) to help him defend himself and compete in a tournament against his bullies, one of whom is Johnny Lawrence (Zabka), the ex-boyfriend. of his love interest Ali Mills (Shue).
Kamen was approached by Columbia Pictures to score a film similar to Avildsen’s previous hit, Rocky (1976), after hiring the director. Kamen was inspired by his own life when writing the film. As a result, he held strong opinions about the cast and strongly requested Morita’s inclusion. Preparations for the film began immediately after final editing of the script was completed, with casting taking place between April and June 1983. Principal photography began on October 31, 1983 in Los Angeles and was completed on the 16th. December 1983. The film was Macchio’s second major role after The Outsiders (1983).
