Happy 85th birthday to Al Pacino. His birthday was a national holiday in our house. After his one-man show on Broadway back in the 90’s, my mother called out Sonny through the crowd. He turned, found her, and took her hand. All she could say was thank you. In that moment, he understood he had carried her through many hardships. She may no longer be here, but I will always think of her when I read his book, and watch his films. That thunderous voice of his was a prominent and fond memory of my childhood and the good times I had with my mother studying film. Happy Birthday Sonny Boy. 🤘🏻
