2026 HOTROD-A-RAMA

It’s May, yes, it’s Hotrod-A-Rama time in Prescott, the new home of this Pre 1965 traditional Hot Rod, Period Custom and Vintage Drag Cars. The gathering of Motorheads at Whiskey Row came alive with fumes of gasoline mixed with a few brews mixed in with a slight touch of Nitro Methane, LOL. No, you are not going to find Boydsters, billetmobiles, Exotics, late model factory hot rods or the likes but yes, real traditional hot rods that my era went to high school in and cruised the boulevards that emphasized authenticity over modern performance and billet bolt on crap. With the evident decline in Street Rods as we see in national events, the Traditional Hot Rods are gaining momentum and know of many builds in the works, Ya Gotta Drive Em, as Gary Said and this is what it’s all about, so don’t even think about bringing that street rod with Billet up the Yazoo, tilt column and all the trim and accessories that you can bolt on, Nota! Yes, you are welcome to come and drool over all the kool classic Hot Rods reborn in the spirit of traditional Hot Rods. This event is about butts in the seat and paying homage to 50s and 60s hot rods and customs. Dale Seaholm, who had this vision, has put together a venue that pays tribute to this era. Dale looks at each and every entry to make sure it’s a fit of this vintage/era in this event to keep the spirit true to the culture. “All cars”, will be vetted at show promoters’ discretion.

Thursday was Road Tour Day, getting some iron butt time for sure. The route went from Prescott to Jerome via rattle snake grade and came back fast and furious. Jerome is a kool place kinda lost in the 40’s, we were a good fit. If you weren’t tired from the iron butt, Delmo’s drive in the pre party was a hit which was standing room only. Friday was the first day on Whiskey Row with Kool Classics around the Courthouse Square. Vendors were abounding with just anything you might need. So-Cal Speed Shop, Clay Smith Cams, Salt City Speed Shop, Cheater Slick Culture, Tire Pros, Absolute Sheet Metal, as well as Nate’s Hot Rod Garage were just a few of the vendor’s supporters on site. Saturday was again at the Courthouse square with the street full of vintage iron, you won’t find any billet here folks just flat motors, 3 speeds, straight axles, kool vintage graphics, mechanical simplicity with hands on workmanship, gasser galore, customs of the 60’s and of course kool rides everywhere.

Next year’s event date is set, May 13-15, 2027, Dale has done Hotrod-A-Rama many times over the years, next year will be his 9th. The event will be limited to 325 entries. Next year’s event will feature a shorter scenic route with garage tours of course. Event details will be posted on our page, “Hotrod-A-Rama Southwest”, with updates posted throughout the coming year. All updates and information will be there so stay tuned and watch for more event in
