This week our theme for is iteration.

As we know, games evolve and change as they receive feedback. We are getting the next set of professional design done for our play boards for Ian Curtiss

With this being our second game we are approaching the design with more intention, knowing what it takes to manufacture a game. This board will be dual layered, so we are already working to build in the space required to make that happen.

The boards also have a reveal mechanic communicating to players, that when certain pieces are added to the map, what their cost will be to maintain its deployment during resource checks.

We will have these new boards at Maricopa Con and SD Histcon!

Thanks to an friend, Balance of Powers is getting a nice upgrade for testing at Consim World this next week.

We have a map that pops and now we will have tokens to match! Pretty excited to see it all on the table.

Which piece is your favorite?

This week for we are talking about negotiations.

This is a new mechanic in Balance of Powers and one that players really like. The energy it brings is powerful. It is not a core mechanic of the game because Great Powers can develop technologies on their own, but it is easier when they negotiate and work together.

What are your thoughts on negotiations? Some people love them and others don’t.
