i have built my house from rubble time and time again, and watched it burn until the soot became my carcinogen of choice. but this time around it's strong enough to stay intact, and i have to decide what color to paint my walls and s**t. ahtlohr is the last burning of any youthful significance.

"a hellish through line of historical resonance"

I think I’d be remiss to say I feel any sort of spiritual connection to this project the way I did to my last two. A historical connection, however, would be more accurate, hence the title. So many of these beats were made in a three week interim directly preceding and immediately following my moving back home to Phoenixville last year. I had accepted my defeat, felt the comfort of my childhood bedroom, and over time begun to understand that my fate was not an endgame, but rather a redirect - and a good one at that. Over those months of Summer - Fall 2025, so much changed in my life - and so rapidly - that I ended up making almost 60 beats in 3 months. For some that's a week's work, for me it's a benchmark. The inspiration I drew from breakups, new jobs, regaining health and a sense of self, drugs, internal accomplishments, a newfound sense of true love, and of course, the beach, all begun to kind of amalgamate in this grossly beautiful way that for the first time in my life, made me feel actually whole as a human being. I guess if you wanted to sum it up, growth. Actual growth. So I give you these beats, a lot sad, some forlorn, some hopeful, some happy, some lovestruck, to document my last year and some change spent back in my hometown as I’ve began to find and believe in myself again.

I’m proud to present, from my most clearheaded, mentally healthy, inspired, and happy self I’ve ever been - the first apricot. album, and my fourth solo full-length overall.
