So grateful to be able to forage in our woods! Our last HUGE haul of Chanterelles were dried and preserved by dry canning. They came in handy for making steak marinade to go over rice tomorrow! Also using up a leftover steak. 🤤

What is your strategy for repurposing your leftovers to keep from being bored with them?

This morning's blackberry harvest (tomorrow morning we'll go harvest wild berries & hopefully more Chanterelles)! Thornless blackberries have certainly become my favorite over the years...look how huge they are!

Well...take two 🎬 on the cilantro, chili, lime chicken!

Even a pro burns things right?!? Kidding, kidding...but no...really! I burned it! 😂🤣

We tried a different approach today and though a small grease fire did ensure and my husband's life flashed before his eyes, the kitchen is still in tact...this time! 🤣🤣 And this chicken looks even MORE delicious anyway!

It's WAY been on the "list of things to do" around here! Cleaning out, organizing the canning pantry! This helps us stay on top of dates, products, what needs to be preserved and what doesn't. Clearly NOT needing pickles or jams/fruit butters this season but desperately lacking in the veggie department! Rendering LOTS of lard today and tomorrow for soap.
