Don and Mary Charles Donald Nature & Living History Camp
Cornwallis 1828 – Braggs, AL (Western Lowndes County)
Step back in time and explore the rich cultural and natural history of the Alabama Black Belt! This one-day hands-on camp is designed for 3rd and 4th graders, offering an unforgettable experience on the historic Cornwallis 1828 homestead.
Students will learn about:
• Choctaw & Creek Native Nations
• The DeSoto Expedition
• Naturalist William Bartram
• Frontier Life & Davy Crockett
• The Creek War & Andrew Jackson
• The Civil War in the Black Belt Region
Activities include:
✔ Nature walks
✔ Pioneer chores & demonstrations
✔ Artifact learning & history stations
✔ Tours of restored & in-restoration historic buildings
Dates (choose one): May 2, 9, 16, 23, or 30
Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Cost: $575 per student (lunch & materials included)
Limited to 8 students per camp day — spaces fill quickly.
