Hot-air rework has always made pulling chips off phone logic boards a painful, high-skill process. I went to Shenzhen to test a new laser that claims to make it way easier — and the results surprised me. Just dropped the video, go watch and tell me if this is a game changer, or just a gimmick.

I'm pretty excited about the new NestWorks CNC mill. The plan is to make desktop CNC as easy as 3d printing. I visited them at their offices in Shenzhen a few weeks ago, and I think they're well on their way to pulling it off. Not only are they really experienced at everything involved in making a CNC from their main business of building robots and robot arms, they're really fascinating engineers and entrepreneurs. After 8 years of making videos about phones in China, they finally let me into a real phone factory. And it was everything I dreamed of and more! Come with me to explore the entire factory, from soldering the mainboard, to packing the phone in a box. The video is up on my YouTube channel now!

I got to play with a bunch of CO2 laser tubes just operating out in the open inside the burn-in room at Thunderlaser when I visited their factory in China earlier this year. It was terrifying! I visited JLC's 3D printing factory in China to see their SLA printer farm in action. It's amazing to see so many high end machines in one room!

This tiny wire cuts through steel! I got to see a wire EDM machine in action at JLCCNC's factory. This electric discharge machining process uses high voltage sparks to erode metal extremely precisely. It's amazing to see it carves out shapes with such accuracy.
