Hello from Virginia! When I looked up the definition of DULL, I did find a few words that describe me; toned down, slower, patient, quiet, placid, content and informal.
Now retired at 71, I have adjusted to the major shift in my lifestyle and have developed a new philosophy: Although aging is inevitable, it does not have to be boing. Boredom and old age seem to go hand in hand for many, but I choose to not allow boredom to creep into my life.
My confidence is high. I'm in a good mood and feel good most of the time. I have no enemies that I know of. Nobody treats me badly, and I have most everything I need.
It's like being a kid again. My life is free, my time is free, no boss, no pressure, no deadlines. My choices on how to make the best of my remaining time on this earth are mine.
After decades of parenting keeping house and working for 40 years, I find that standard chores are a total breeze. Cooking, cleaning, running errands, shopping are all a piece of cake.
I now have time to take care of my health. I go to the gym twice a week, walk 3 miles a day, yoga twice a week, and I eat healthy foods.
I have time to study nutrition, read labels in the grocery store and shop at farmer's markets for fresh fruits and veggies.
I volunteer once a week at a local food pantry. I play Words with Friends online, and visit friends and family who live out of town. Every week I eat out with in town friends.
My mantra is Don't Stop Moving! Don't wallow in the sins and mistakes of your past. The past is gone. Enjoy the movements and sounds of nature and the changing of seasons. Every day is NOW! Enjoy and be thankful!

Hi, my name is Renee. I never really thought of myself as dull, but perhaps I am, because I love all of your stories so much. I live in Northern California in a very remote, rural area in the Redwoods on the north coast. I am married 40 years now to an Englishman from Hampshire. Turns out I have ancestors from Devon and Cornwall. Which is amazing to me because my favorite childhood book is THE SECRET GARDEN, and my favorite place in England is Cornwall (especially Boscastle.) After graduating from university with degrees in French and History, I worked in the travel industry. Then I went back to school, and became a teacher, teaching first grade for 21 years. I am now retired, I have three grown children. I have discovered cooking (a little late for my kids.) I love to read, exercise, and love to shower my grandchildren with surprises. My husband and I are very much looking forward to a self guided walking tour in the Cotswolds in May. Maybe, not so dull. But I still feel an affinity with all of you. I am 67, shoe size 7 1/2.

I've been lurking for a while, but I suppose I'll finally introduce myself 😊 My name is Cas and while I may not look dull, all I like to do is stay at home and paint, tend to my garden, or hang out with my pets ♡
I included a picture of my first vegetable I've grown myself this year! And all my pets! My oldest is my chihuahua named Sammy who loves sleeping and won't leave my side. Then there's Neo, this HUGE tuxedo cat that I believe has a Maine C**n grandparent and the most loving cat I've ever met. Then, Morpheus, who I took in and bottle fed as a kitten who just loves to play. More recently, a stray dog that adopted himself. This big beautiful brindle dog that is terrified of people was laying in my yard on a hot day and I gave him water. Now he is always sitting on my porch waiting for me to come outside every day. I named him Dakota, or "Kota" for short.
It is nice to meet you all! I wear size 9 in women's and size 7 men's. My stepson ate all the bananas

I am not only dull, I am pale and dull. I made soup for Easter.

I’m taking my first trip to Italy and I bought this red dress so I could feel fancy Sophia Loren style at lake como. It came with this odd hook on the strap and it constantly kept coming off. So I did what any rational dull woman would do and I used my bolt cutters to chop off said annoying hook, cut a bit of the ties off the back of the dress and just knotted them directly to the dress.
I feel like Sophia Loren would be proud?
Age 43
Soon to be divorced
Size 8.5 shoe
I eat a banana every day to avoid leg cramps but I’m currently out
***Thank you all for the kind words and also I now feel silly because I never thought to crisscross the straps! The dress and bag are from shien. Bolt cutters sold separately

Apparently when I bragged about making five pairs of the same pants it triggered some curiosity. So, by popular demand, I present the dullest fashion show ever: “The Pants”
Before you ask, they are all made from various thrifted fabrics using the Archer Work Pants pattern by Matchy Matchy Sewing Club.

THEN (the first picture) was on 12/9/2016
I was 32, and bartending a private bar in the home of a professional baseball pitcher. that's who I'm with in the picture
While driving home later (drunk), I flipped my 4Runner multiple times and walked away with only minor injuries, but got my first and last DUI. Thankfully I didn't hurt anyone else!
The next morning, 12/10/2016, I swore I would never drink again. Now it's been 8 years, and in fact, I have not drank a single drop since that awful night, and I never plan to.
☆8 whole years! 2,922 days!☆
Alcoholism doesn't always look like a "wreck". Most times we look okay, even though we aren't. I struggled from age 13. I didn't have a bad home life. I have great parents. I was loved and cared for. It started as a "good time" and simply got out of hand. It can happen to anyone. Addiction is a real beast not to be undermined! I was "fully functioning" in my addiction. I made straight A's through school. I always had a good job. I always had a home, friends, and romantic relationships. I hid my issues very well, but they were still there.
I thought I was happy even when I was drinking.
But the joy in my life since being sober is immeasurable!
I met an amazing man 6 weeks after that DUI. He promised to be 100% sober with me. Then he asked me to marry him 6 weeks after we started dating. We were married 4 months later, making me a happy wife and bonus mom to a wonderful 12 year old girl. We have been married almost 7.5 years and now also have 3 beautiful boys. He has kept his word and never drank a single drop, sharing in my sobriety. I will forever be grateful for his unwavering choice to love and support me.
I much prefer my current "dull" life of being a wife and stay at home mom to my previous "exciting" life of chasing a "good time" in a fog of alcohol.
NOW 8 years later (the other 3 pictures)
I'm 40, and living my best "dull" life. Size 8 US. My 2 year old and I just both ate 2.5 bananas for snack (yes, 5 total) We like nanas!
If you are struggling, please know you CAN do better if you WANT to! You are WORTH IT!

The other day I was at the store with one of my kids getting a few of the basics. As a large family, we always check the discount section. On this particular day there were Apple Jacks marked down to $2.02 a box. We hardly ever get cereal because it feels like empty calories and veeerrryyy rarely do we buy “sugar cereal” as my kids call it, because again, too exciting, too much sugar, too many kids, too expensive… So we got a few boxes and moved on to get the rest of what we came for. Fast forward to checking out, we rang everything up and I realized with our store rewards card entered there was a Mega Savings on ceareal, $2 OFF per box. EXCUSE ME?! These boxes are ringing up at $0.02 a BOX?!? So we went back and bought the entire marked down pile, before you come at me for being greedy… ain’t none of you paying my bills or feeding these kids so for 2 cents a box we absolutely stocked up!! We will ration these out so no one is humming with a sugar high.
Calling my husband to tell him about the deal of the century was terribly exciting! It felt slightly illegal paying $0.41 for all this cereal 😮‍💨🤌🏻🤣🤪

I was reading a while back about the the benefits of topical estradiol cream for the face. Sounded great, but of course insurance won't cover cosmetic creams. And then I found a tiki tocki video by a dermatologist who basically said the coco cream is the exact same thing, and she's been using it for years. And much cheaper than the fancy face cream. One brief email to my doc about my poor dry Sylvia, and 4 months later those fine lines are indeed better! Even my dark spots seem to be improving!

Hello dullings😆😆. Been thoroughly amused following this club. Was thinking I was the dullest of all but are you girls hilarious! Am a coffee farmer in the heart of central Kenya. Red soil county. This by far means you're never clean enough. Don't ever bother to scrub😆. But once done with coffee, I spend hours smelling goat butts as I negotiate with them for some milk. I might throw in some unpleasant words like today when miss toggen decided to spill all the milk. I live with two of my grandbabies that I refer to as The Muffins. They drive me nuts with their crazily varied questions. Mufasa the boy is into football and thinks I should know everything and all players including and not limited to European footballers. KaJJ his sister thinks I am a walking encyclopedia. Sometimes I want to shout at them. But I invent a french or Spanish word I've either heard or imagined as the appropriate time answer....
My most beautiful moments are seating on the terrace on the lowest and sloppy area of the farm and watch birds and take naps. Or harvest funny and ridiculous memes for my last born who's a teen. I garden. Mostly for fun and food. As you can see, I love bananas. And each time one gets pregnant although it looks more ph***ic than paged, I go out and plant another. Which means I have loads of bananas. I even created a hashtag around this total dullard. I have a chicken that follows me around. And will without failure join me for lunch and watch TV with me and proceed to chipchap like she's talking to me or asking or explaining what's on tele. I tried marriage and failed miserably. Now everyone thinks they should get me a boyfriend. I wouldn't know what to do with one😆😆😆
I spend my time off coffee picking seasons making totes bags for sale in our local market. And am oddly tired of explaining to farmer mamas that totes don't get zippers. Maybe I should consider selling as beach totes. I might once I rub off my dull-ity.
Almost 50. Size 6 but 8 for gumboots...I love planting season and am getting quite tired of the Red soil farming
