I had the opportunity to sit down with Odejuma for a conversation about my journey navigating podcasting and Black q***r Pittsburgh. 🎙️🏳️‍🌈

We talked about building RIANOUTLOUD!, creating space for Black LGBTQ+ voices, the realities of being an independent creator, and what it means to continue showing up for my community through storytelling, culture, and conversation.

Six years into this journey, I’m grateful anytime I get to step from behind my own mic and share MY story. 🖤

What happens when Black q***r love is allowed to simply be soft? 🖤

In this special two part RIANOUTLOUD! conversation, Rian-Louis sits down with Shamar Amir ( AMIR ) , writer and star of the short film Sea Me, alongside his co star Bryson Jacobi Kai ( Bryson Jacobi Kai ), for a conversation about Black q***r love, tenderness, vulnerability, and the power of seeing ourselves represented on screen.

Together, we get into the inspiration behind Sea Me, building authentic chemistry on screen, protecting softness as Black men, navigating the realities of independent filmmaking, and intentionally telling a story where two Black q***r men can simply connect without trauma being at the center.

Because representation is about more than being seen. It’s also about giving someone permission to imagine love, safety, joy, tenderness, and belonging for themselves.

Black q***r love is normal. Black q***r love is beautiful. And Black q***r love deserves to be centered.
