Makings of our little kitchen cafe nook! Swipe for the before ➡️

I’m so grateful that I stuck to my initial idea to turn this window into a breakfast nook!

I felt the elegant architecture of the space was calling for it. Because this project wasn’t high on our priority budget wise, I spent months thrifting the perfect furniture to complete my idea. Almost a year in the making but it was so worth it! I’ve loved eating breakfast here.

If you ever find yourself comparing your home full of projects to the perfectly stages completed spaces you see on instagram, just know that they took time and yours can too!

Home takes time. 🤍

2 years today since I was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma. Tomorrow will be 2 years since I started chemotherapy. I can’t believe it’s been that long, and at the same time I can’t believe it feels like yesterday. They were right when they said there would come a day where you don’t think about cancer every single day, but I didn’t know the days I do would sting as much as they do.

I tried to distract myself by making cupcakes and ribbons. It didn’t take the pain away but that’s ok. It’s important to celebrate the good when you can and grieve when it comes. I’m grateful for the good days I’ve had since and the good days still to come. I’m praying for grace when I need it.

I promise I’m not always this emo I’m just grateful to have connected with several in the cancer community here. It helps to share these milestones and hear yours as well. 🎗️💚

Hello! First post since January! I didn’t intend to take such a long break, but then the longer I was away the less I found myself wanting to rush back. 🙈

I said hello in stories a few days ago, I hadn’t posted a story since January either haha. It’s been nice catching up with some of you there. 🫶🏻

To break my hiatus here’s a few highlights from my year. These gingham pants are getting me through the summer! As you can see, I almost never take them off Haha! Instagram has changed a bit. We can post 20 photos at once now?

What’s on your reading list this year?

I want to get back into reading this year! I used to read a lot as a child and teen, then I went to college and it sucked the joy out of it for a bit and I have struggled to finish a book ever since.

I used to read a lot of fiction, but am finding myself drawn to educational books. I’m about half way through atomic habits and it’s honestly life changing. I can’t believe I waited so long to start.

A few days ago my friend hosted me in her stories to share a thrifted book. I picked the one you see in these pictures and realized I hadn’t actually looked through it fully since I bought it. So much beautiful French inspo. Now I want to create a canopy bed moment in our room to all the books this year. 🤞🏻

One year Cancer free. 💚🎗️ (officially!)

Today one year ago I got the call from my oncologist that there was no evidence of cancer in my pet scan.

I’m so grateful for a year of life, and that I’m finally starting to believe that I will have many more years ahead for me.

I actually was sitting with some friends a few months back and said in passing, “I have the rest of my life to figure it (the random topic we were discussing) out.” I was referring to a whole life, full of years. My friend recognized the weight of what I said before I had, and commented how it was so good to hear me say that. I processed that, a bit in shock, realizing what a huge moment that was for me. 🥹

I’ve spent a lot of this year in fear, preparing myself to hear the news that my cancer had returned. But it hasn’t. That moment I realized so much healing has taken place.

With the greatest risk of cancer returning being within the first year, having this milestone behind me is huge.

Feeling hopeful. Thank you Jesus!

My heart is so full. Last fall and thanksgiving was spent in and out of the hospital getting chemotherapy, sick, anxious, and exhausted. My care team and family made thanksgiving better than I could have imagined it would be in a hospital, but it was still so hard. This year, I feel so thankful to be home, healing, with hair growing more and more each day.

I’m thankful for each of you, and your friendship. Thankful for your support and kind words whether I was sharing cancer and life updates, or home making and diys. I started this page as a creative outlet out of a love for interior decorating and diy, and that is what I plan to continue to share, but I never could’ve anticipated where life would take me and the other connections I’ve made through this app.

For my cancer community: I truly hope wherever you are today, that you are reminded you are loved and that you feel loved. I’m thankful you’re here and wish and pray for continual physical and mental healing for us all.

For all my friends: Whether you’ve been here a long time or are new to the vibrant dwelling, I’m thankful for you. I hope your day is full. 🤎

Some of my favorite detail shots from decorating our row house apartment for Christmas this week, mostly of these colorful velvet ribbons. But can you blame me?? I still have a lot of ribbon left over after making bows for the tree, so I’ll just be gliding around adding ribbon to any and every surface. Next up, adding ribbons to the garlands. 🌟🎀

I completely forgot to post a 9 month hair growth update this month. The curls are literally insane at this point. ➿

Because I don’t want to cut it it’s been looking like a mop but the scarves I used during chemo have come in clutch yet again to bring some shape to this mane!

It will literally go from flat to this curly in a matter of hours with no product, so I had a crazy thought this morning…Should I set up a phone and try to do a Timelapse of it curling out?? Can I sit still for that long? Lol

Styling the vintage find from my last post on our primary bedroom mantel. 🥹 I love the details of this piece! I didn’t really need another trinket box but this one was just too pretty to pass on. I can see my great grandchildren pulling it out of the attic one day and finding pressed flowers, little love notes and polaroids of us from over the years, kept safe in this beautiful blue treasure box. 💐🥲
